Exceptional Service
By ,
We took our trip July 2- July 6 2012 -The customer service is truly exceptional. Everyone who works there seems to be genuinely happy to offer assistance. I don't think I heard the word "no" while I was there. Also, I do not speak Spanish, but I had no issues communicating with the workers in all areas of the resort. -The overall appearance and atmosphere of the grounds of the resort are amazing. Well manicured vegetation and I do not recall seeing a single piece of trash on the ground. -The food was hit or miss, but that can be expected of any buffet. There were items that were absolutely delicious, but some that were definitely not. The wide variety helped make up for this. The breakfast buffet at the main restaurant was exceptional. Literally everything you could want for breakfast was available, including an omelet station that I took advantage of on a daily basis. As for dinner, we only ate at the Mexican restaurant and it was good, not great. There is a bar/restaurant about 100 yards up the beach from Iberostar, and they had the best seafood I’ve ever eaten. Definitely not what I expected when we were seated. They showed us the daily catch that came off of the boat at 4:30, and it was on our plate at 6:30; can’t get any fresher than that. -The "wildlife" was unexpected but really cool to see. There are peacocks, iguanas, geckos, and (for some reason) cats roaming all over the place. There is also a flock of flamingos in a pond area and parrots that hang out in the main lobby during the day. The wildlife really added to the atmosphere in an unexpected way. -The "Star Friends" were great. They organize and run all of the various activities throughout the day, and put on a nightly show in the theater. I really appreciated the nightly entertainment, even if it was a bit campy. - Some of the reviews mentioned a rocky, beach, but that is not entirely true. The beach is sand, and it’s pretty nice. Plenty of shade and seats available, but lots of open sand as well. There’s even a volleyball court. However, right at the water line is where the rocks and coral begin; and it would be impossible to wade into the water without water shoes or something of that nature. Also, my girlfriend was playing beach soccer and cut her foot on a rock. So the beach is good for walking, but if you’re running or playing any games I’d suggest wearing sandals or shoes. - There were a lot of children there during our stay. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but on more than one occasion all of the seats at the swim up bar were blocked by unattended children who were downing virgin daiquiris. If you'd prefer not to deal with children or listen to them squeal while relaxing by the pool I'd recommend going to an adult-only resort or not going during spring or summer break. -The beds are hard and lumpy, but mattress toppers are available for free. -The mini bar is quite small, but contrary to what I was told at check in it was re-stocked daily.

Sisters Retreat!
By ,
This resort is layed back and low key, not pretentious. The staff are fun, friendly and down to earth people that want to make your visit count . If you never left the resort, you could find something to do 24/7, it has everything you need. Sandy white beach crystal clear blue and green water, you can snorkel right off the beach and underneath the dock is like swimming in an aquarium with tons of fish. Plenty of lounge chairs and a beach bar to enjoy your bottomless drinking. Night life entertainment is like a broadway show, outstanding music, drama, and dancing. Food is excellent. Love the coffee and breakfast baked goods. The animals make it fun, cats hanging out (for the cat people that miss their cats lol) lizards and bizarre birds that make weird sounds (we named kodak birds). Our hotel villa had a great atmosphere to it and also great airconditioning, comfy beds, stocked mini frig full of bottled water, beer, soda. All your amenities and fun character. Maids did a terrific job and made artistic animal figures out of towels. We went snokeling out on the reefs, a boat picked us up right on the dock ,very easy, safe and fun crew, just set it up with the on site tour agents. Now this is why people write songs about Mexico and wanting to come back to relax and get away, I know I will. Great Birthday Present! One Big Party

Going in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!
By ,
I love this place, its on a beautiful beach location, you can actually see all the way across the ocean from Cozumel to the Mexican mainland!!! This will be my 4th trip...its very comphy and inviting, not stuffy like some other hotels in Cozumel that I won't name...Scuba sites are right off the pier with World Class Diving, more than anyone can ever go to in a lifetime.

We will stay there on our next visit for sure
By ,
On our recent stay at the Iberostar on Cozumel we had a excellent time. We can't say enough about everything that they had to offer. From the time that we got there the staff was over and beyond to take care of us. The rooms were very clean and they kept them that way the entire time. The food they offered was very good and plentiful. Even when our door key didn't work someone was at our bungalow in a matter of minutes double checked who we where and got us in. I would recommend the Iberostar to anyone visiting Cozumel.

Tranquil, Village-like Hotel - 2nd of many stays.
By ,
We love the compact, quiet rooms with rustic patio/balcony (in 4 or 8-room clusters that look like Mayan huts, rather than a long block of rooms), the pool and beach and "El Cedral" dining room all in one compact area, the good buffet food (OK, its buffet, but pretty good none the less) and very good ala cart dining (especially El Serape), that drinks are included, but most of all we love the location - just minutes by boat from some of the liveliest dive sites (Santa Rosa reef sites, Palancar reef sites - we're divers in case you hadn't guessed)! Our bed was very firm, but quite comfortable (we like firm). We also loved the great service (we left small tips - $2-5 - for the maids daily, and $1-2 tips for bartenders, etc. - totally optional). We were disappointed to discover upon arrival (2:00 pm on a Wednesday) that we'd missed that day's window (10-1) for making ala cart dinner reservations, and the next day only Sat./Sun. reservations were available. Most guests seem to arrive Sat/Sun, and quickly take all reservations until the next weekend. This penalizes those arriving on weekdays.

Great vacation
By ,
We just got back and we had a great time and we are not divers. Some things to know, $20 one way trip to town in a taxi. Don't forget your sunscreen and bug spray! Dollars or pesos to buy stuff, you can use your credit card but you get a better deal with paper. The resort is small, the food was pretty good and served all day. You can drink the water on the resort but they give you bottled water in your room. 4 bars to choose from and the people are great! Cozumel is safe and everybody speaks English. We would go back or stay at another Iberostar!

Tropical Paradise Away From Town!!
By ,
The service was fabulous! The staff were prepared for our arrival and remembered us throughout our stay. The waiters remembered our drink orders from day to day making it feel more personal for us. Our bed had fresh flower pedals daily. The resort is located in a quiet portion on the South end of the island and is an authentic tropical setting. You can expect to see flamingos near the walk ways as well as iguanas in the trees and on the ground. Don't worry, they don't bother anyone. There are several pools and the property is beach front and has several bars for easy access to drinks. The nightly shows are very interesting and the staff enjoy performing. This resort is definitely about customer service.

2nd time there... can't wait to go back
By ,
Absolutely fantastic place. Our first trip was after the hurricaine in 2006 and we loved it then, and now went back and it was even better. Our room was just steps from the pool and dining area. Room was clean, only problem we had was the bed was rock hard... but they fixed that with a foam mattress pad that we requested. Tons of wildlife to look at. Plenty of room to get beach or pool chair. Food was good, a little repetitive by the end of the week though. Can't wait for our 3rd trip...

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
By ,
We just got back from our vacation at Iberostar in Cozumel and we loved it. This place is fantastic from the professionalism of the wait staff to the gift shop. The food was nothing short of fantastic and I mean that!!! Im one of the pickiest people when it comes to food and service but I don’t have one complaint about this resort. The rooms were spotless the bathroom was spotless. These people are always cleaning! If you’re looking for a great place to go and relax by the ocean then go here you will not be sorry. Thank you, Iberostar for making our vacation so fantastic. See you next year!!!

Wonderful, Peaceful Beautiful Place
By ,
Sugar Land, Texas My husband and I recently returned from the Iberostar Cozumel. After researching where to stay we decided on the Iberostar and we are so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a drink and a very friendly staff. This was the case from the front desk employees, to the bar staff, and the Star Friends especially. The Star Friends were always friendly and attentive. We went to the Star Friends show every night and enjoyed every show. During breakfast they come to your table and eat with you. When they would see us they would always call us by our first name. Good memory since they meet new people every day. The food was great, lots of variety. The grounds are beautiful; and you can be walking and come across an iguana or a peacock. The room was very clean. The housekeeping was wonderful, leaving flowers, chocolates, and a towel animal on the bed daily. This is a beautiful resort. We are very glad that we chose the Iberostar. The beach area has rocks but they explained to us that this happened during hurricane Wilma but hopefully it will recover fast. All you have to do is go to the pier and step down to beautiful water. Beautiful property wonderful staff. We will definitely return.
