Red Carpet Inn Ilion, Ilion

No complimentary continental breakfast nor iron & ironing board as stated in the Yahoo confirmation. Bed and pillows were comfortable, but I always bring my own pillows just in case. Would stay there again, if I could not find anything else.

THERE WAS BED BUGS...DIRTY...BATHROOM WAS NOT CLEAN MILDOW SMELLING ROOM.VERY LOUD PARTY SPOT MUST BE WERE ALL THE LOCALS WOULD GO AFTER BAR CLOSED

Very disappointing stay. I was born and raised in Ilion. Remember this motel when it was the Towpath, owned by the Jarvis Family. Extremely nice place to stay then. I have been back to Ilion several times in the past years and have always stayed at this motel. The last time was when it was the Whiffle Tree. We were really looking forward to our visit to Ilion. The motel is now very, very run down. When we checked in about 3:00p.m. , there was no one around. Had to ring intercom and wait for awhile for someone to show up. Barely spoke English and could not seem to find the two room reservation. Finally I was given 4 or 5 cards to look thru and mine was the second one. (Not on computer). When making the reservations, I had mentioned we would be traveling with my elderly mother. They did not have handicapped accessible rooms, but told they could give us a room in the front, so that she did not have to walk far. The rooms we were given when we got there, were located in the back. After calling someone on the telephone and talking in another language I could not understand, but did pick up a word or two to know she was talking about us, did agree to change one room to the front of the motel. We asked for both rooms to be together. Then someone else finally came down and we were given two rooms in the front. No room had any updates to include hand rails in the bathrooms. Very difficult for an elderly person to manover around. I asked for Senior discount, AARP, etc. and was told they did not give Senior Discounts. There were no ammenties whatsoever. Ice bucket in the room, but no ice machine on premises. Expecting continental breakfast, but when we went to lobby, door was locked. We stayed two nights and our rooms were not straightened up during our stay. Had to locate someone to give us clean towels, extra roll of toilet paper and empty our trash buckets. Rooms were very small, no table and chairs to sit at, but did have one chair side of the doorway. Did have a TV, but clock radio with alarm, did not work. We had two non-smoking rooms, but in one room there was a very real odor of stale cigarette smoke. Altogether, not a very good experience. We will not stay there again.

Nothing about this room could be considered acceptable. Filthy bathroom, yard sale find furniture, walls ready to fall down, stained linens that could not have been changed because of the coins I found in the bed. Don't even think of taking your shoes off on the carpet. No highspeed internet, no coffee pot and no refrig like advertised. Door doesn't even lock properly.
