Top notch choice
Likes: complete kitchen (minus an oven), cooktop, microwave, fullsize fridge, plenty of dishes. Rooms are the size of small apartments. 75% of them have balconies. Rooms are extra clean and well maintained. No residual damage from the hurricane. Management serves breakfast and dinner (Free) High speed internet (free). Bed was very large and comfortable in a seperate bedroom. Pool/jacuzzi very nice and clean. Hotel is in a great location if you want to see downtown. Its within walking distance to bourbon st (3 blocks) Harrahs casino (6 blocks or so) Aquarium (across from Harrahs) A lot of great restaurants in between. Bad element seems to have left the city no bother from anyone except police (See below)
Dislikes: when we first arrived free beer tap was on 24/7 now its shut off at 7pm :-( Parking is kind of a pain in the ass its $15/day and during the week that lot is jammed. During standard work hours, if you have to leave to go somewhere it will take the attendant 10 min or so to get you out. Rooms cleaned once a week but that was due to staffing issues and was getting better toward the end. Local PD - dont dare park your car outside of the jammed parking lot. The police are drawn to parking violations like moths to light. Other than that no problems :-) most of new orleans' finest were very helpfull and polite.
Entire stay was 4 months, and became a second home, management and staff are very nice and helpfull.
