Never again
By ,
I was in room 706. Holiday Inn Express used to be my favorite hotel brand to stay at, so I've stayed at several. This was easily among the worst Holiday Inn Express that I've stayed at. Apparently I was upgraded to a higher level room, which I appreciated when I walked into the room and saw 2 beds and a mini-kitchen - sink, dishwasher, fridge, cabinets with dishes, coffee pot, microwave, tea pot, etc. It was pretty impressive looking. But that was only my first impression when I walked tiredly into the room. * Then I went to make a pot of coffee. The coffee pot didn't work correctly - it was one of those pots that is supposed to stop and let you get a cup of coffee before the brew cycle is complete. The stopper didn't open properly, so there was a coffee mess. * The thermostat would not allow me to adjust the room temperature - so it was uncomfortablely warm. * The beds weren't very comfortable, either. * It was a corner room near the front of the hotel. The road noise was loud enough to make sleeping hard, too. * Speaking of noise, there was even more running water noise than most hotels. I wonder if that was related to the water heater that was in the closet? * The stains on the carpet weren't attractive. Neither were the places along the walls where the carpet was lifting up. * The breakfast was cold the one morning I ate it. As I mentioned, Holiday Inn Express used to be my hotel of choice, still is second choice, so I was looking forward to staying there. But I don't think I'll be returning to that hotel, or recommending it.

Would stay here again
By ,
Great location, a comfortable walk to the old city. Room was nice with a small kitchen. We used the valet parking and didn't ever park ourselves...didn't look like there was a lot of parking. Love the breakfasts....

Just what we needed
By ,
We were looking for a place close to the Old Port, that would sleep 1 adult, and 3 teens, allowing privacy for 2 females and 2 males and this gave us exactly what we needed. Price was very acceptable for what we needed. Parking was a bit of a problem though as I recall and the neighborhood was a bit dicey it seemed (the side streets leading down to the Old Port) if you didn't want to walk all the way to the main streets and then back track to the Old Port Center.

Great Hotel
By ,
Only drawback was lack of a restaurant. However, there were some nearby; we just didn't have much time to look for them. Great service.

Great value, great service, great place!
By ,
The Holiday Inn Express in Montreal is centrally located, close to China Town and Old Montreal, and near a large supermarket. The subway is not too far away and, during peak hours, you can catch the bus down the street. The rooms are extremely clean and nicely done, the mattresses are comfortable, and the down comforters are nice and warm. There is wireless internet and even two tvs!The kitchen in the suites allow you to cook a quick dinner and saves you a trip outdoors. There are one bedroom suites that work well for a person on a bussiness trip or a week-long stay. The Bussiness Center is open 24/7 and it has two computers hooked up to a printer and complementary internet too! The breakfast buffet is very good, and it includes bagles and hard boiled eggs as well as waffles, toast, and pastries. The service is terrific, everyone tries to help out and really make you feel at home. Overall, I was very pleased and cannot wait to go back!!!
