Never again
I was in room 706.
Holiday Inn Express used to be my favorite hotel brand to stay at, so I've stayed at several. This was easily among the worst Holiday Inn Express that I've stayed at.
Apparently I was upgraded to a higher level room, which I appreciated when I walked into the room and saw 2 beds and a mini-kitchen - sink, dishwasher, fridge, cabinets with dishes, coffee pot, microwave, tea pot, etc. It was pretty impressive looking.
But that was only my first impression when I walked tiredly into the room.
* Then I went to make a pot of coffee. The coffee pot didn't work correctly - it was one of those pots that is supposed to stop and let you get a cup of coffee before the brew cycle is complete. The stopper didn't open properly, so there was a coffee mess.
* The thermostat would not allow me to adjust the room temperature - so it was uncomfortablely warm.
* The beds weren't very comfortable, either.
* It was a corner room near the front of the hotel. The road noise was loud enough to make sleeping hard, too.
* Speaking of noise, there was even more running water noise than most hotels. I wonder if that was related to the water heater that was in the closet?
* The stains on the carpet weren't attractive. Neither were the places along the walls where the carpet was lifting up.
* The breakfast was cold the one morning I ate it.
As I mentioned, Holiday Inn Express used to be my hotel of choice, still is second choice, so I was looking forward to staying there. But I don't think I'll be returning to that hotel, or recommending it.
