I drove around costa Rica and I stayed at the Perla Negra in early October for 4 days. The place is not a 5 a start hotel, here is the bad news, if you are looking for a 5 star place, you are not going to find one in Puerta Veijo. Nonetheless, if you are looking for something magical, perla negra is it. The place has its own character; you are in the jungle, yet just 100 feet away from the beach. The staff is kind and accommodating. Every day after my early morning ocean swim, the cook would make me breakfast as I like it. The owners mange the hotel, and they truly made me feel like as if I were family. At night when I get back from town, I would sit have a drink with the owners, the neighbors, the friends, you name it; this is one of the most welcoming places I have ever stayed at in my entire life. I do recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away.
There is NO TV in the room, and
The hotel and the staff are the magnificent! The location is perfect, right on the beautiful black beach of Puerto Viejo...The minute you walk through the gate you are greated with warm and smiling faces...the Hotel managment as well as the owners cater to your every need. Traveling alone I felt more than comfortable staying at La Perla Negra. The grounds are georgious...the rooms are very comfortable...The perfect distance from all the noise & traffic of Puerto Viejo..yet just a short walk down the beach will put you right in the center of town. You can do all your sightseeing and shopping...then escape back to the ultimate retreat! You will know you have arrived in Paradise when you stay at La Perla Negra!
..from your busy life this is de place where you have to go. We stayed in the hotel for two weeks and we had everything we wished for; tranquility. The hotel is a 20 minutes (beach)walk away from Puerto Viejo where maana is the main word. The staff in the hotel is very friendly, the rooms are clean, the sea is 50 meters from the hotel and the jungle is on your left hand. We will definetly go back.
My boyfriend Ryszard and I went to La Perla Negra last year and fell in Love with it. We enjoyed eating, drinking and relaxing on the beach...We Loved it so much that we are going to go back this year. I can't wait!!!! I have posted some photos of our trip last year and will take more photo's when we get there. I hope who ever reads this will get a chance to go and spend some time relaxing on the beach. Food was great, people were great and the staff and owners are awsome...
I HAVE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL TWICE. THE LOCATION IS CENTRAL, YOU ARE NOT IN THE HEART OF THE CITY CENTER, BUT A WALK ON THE BEACH AWAY. WHAT I DID NOT LIKE FOR A HOTEL OF THIS PRICE, WAS THERE ARE NO TELEPHONES AND NO TV IN THE ROOMS.
