greeted by friendly/helpful evening staff. Free underground/secure parking was bonus. Room was clean, comfortable with nice touches of alcohol pads by phone/remote, filtered tap water, micro, fridge & safe, robes for lounging (though not worth the $75 they were selling them for), cozy bed/pillows. The shower was decent...head high enough so my kind of tall husband didn't have to crouch, rounded curtain rod but shower/toilet area small to begin with, could have had more/larger towels available, Aveda products. Large sink/counter area but could have used the space to make shower/tub/hotel larger. No phone by bed, alarm clock complicated but not utilizing wake up call or alarm so didn't care too much. Breakfast & eating area was decent. I've had better buffets but lots of healthy choices. No highchair so eating w/ toddler challenging and no car seat available for us to utilize complimentary shuttle to shopping. Unfortunately fire alarm went off @ 6:45 AM (toaster in kitchen). Did try to extend stay and negotiate lower rate since we would have to change room. Morning desk staff not quite as helpful/friendly. No discount offered even w/ alarm snafu. Overall...a bit overpriced even for 'boutique' hotel though it had nice offerings. Have never stayed in a hotel that was unwilling to negotiate on rate. Good job by housekeeping - room immaculate. Don't get a room near ice machine. I felt guilty getting ice @ 10PM because of the noise.

Very different feel, a clean modern hotel with many perks: Wine tasting, delicious buffet breakfast. Also they have a specialty service called a la carte, your choice of extras delivered to your room. (Also included) What a treat! The entire experience was great.

Looking for a super comfortable bed in a well-designed, fresh (not floral or pine-scented)-smelling, clean room with lots of natural light, and an excellent breakfast and free transportation to shopping and attractions thrown in? Stay at the Watertown! The clean lines and contemporary design are refreshing. Excellent use of space in our room. Our bed had both down and poly-fil pillows. Wonderful mattress. Great location. At night, the breakfast area becomes a wine bar with wine tastings and tasty light fare. Free, secured parking. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Cookies and fruit available in the lobby - also a "general store." We were impressed with the in-room recycling, filtered tap water, rainwater catchment system and other environmentally responsible efforts. Movie theater, Trader Joes and great restaurants within walking distance. We visited Mama Melina's Italian restaurant twice. The A La Cart system and all the other amenities were very much appreciated and made us feel even more pampered. Will definitely go back.

We stayed at the Watertown about a dozen times, doing consulting work for UW. It was always excellent; the clean rooms, the urban feel (as compared to most hotels that could interchange names and you wouldn't know), the complimentary breakfast (more than mircowave pastries and cereal!), the wine tastings at 5 and small meals if you aren't hungry (there is not a full service restaurant in the hotel, but the area has plenty). It seemes very "Seattle." I would go back without question (seems obvious since we went back 11 times).

Excellent room, well stocked breakfast. Safe parking underground, easy to get to by freeway, nice firm mattress. If I can, I hope to stay in this hotel whenever I come to Seattle.

Great location, within walking distance of UW. Also close to I-5. Excellent continental breakfast, rooms are large and luxurious, service was impeccable. Highly recommended.

I recently needed a business hotel close to the U of Washington Medical Center... I came across the Watertown on the web. What a wonderful surprise... Not extravagant -- but better. The Wine Tasting at 5:00 was great... the fresh continental breakfast in the a.m. was worth waking up to... Service & cleanliness were unmatched... Room comfort topped the Westin's "heavenly bed". The decor was fresh and uniquely contemporary... and it was a pleasant walk to some quiet coffee houses and cafe's. Don't miss the Bombay Grill on 48th & Roosevelt if you like Indian Food! Wish all my business travels were this pleasant...

Even though this is a bit further away than I had wanted to stay from downtown area, I really enjoyed the rooms. Very spacious and urban chic. Quiet. Comfortable beds. Shades that kept the room dark if you want to sleep in. The little extras were really nice, such as the microwave popcorn, Starbucks coffee and ala Cart service. Parking is included too! And there's a shuttle to downtown and complimentary breakfast--although we didn't use those perks during our stay. Short easy ride to downtown on surface streets that takes to right smack up to the Space Needle! Very helpful and friendly staff.
