Microtel Inn Clarksville, Clarksville

Hotel exterior and lobby are well maintained however room condition was poor, even for a budget class hotel. Carpets, beds and upolstery were stained and sheetrock around tub enclosure was in disrepair. Toilets in both rooms stopped up by morning. When I requested for someone to come up and unplug them at 8:30 AM, no action had been taken an hour later (even though there were several housekeepers already cleaning rooms). I finally had to get a plunger from the front desk to take care of the problem myself so that my family could get ready to continue our trip. Also, my credit card slip was given to another traveller for signature without the staff confirming that it was his. When I attempted to discuss these problems with the manager she was unavailable despite several calls. Finally I contacted the Microtel Customer Service reps who took the information. The manager never returned my calls and when I contacted her she was rude and accused me of trying to avoid paying my bill (even though when I left the hotel I had actually been charged for 3 rooms rather than 2 because of the credit card fiasco). Steer clear of this hotel!!! If there are problems, there won't be anyone there to fix them and if you complain to the manager, she will attempt to throw the problems back on you (if she calls you at all).
