Started off Good but........
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/23/08
When I arrived at this hotel I thought I had picked the right one. Valet was awesome, front door greeters were great, front desk staff was awesome, bellman were awesome......Then........I had a package sent to the hotel, no one knew where my package was, I did find the Ups Store and they had no clue where my package was, which was received the day before. I explained to them that this was a pricely object and needed right then. The staff memeber decided to get rude with me and act like the package missing was my fault. She then turned the situation of to the manager Toury? This guy was the worst of them all, he walked with a strut and acted like this was my fault. I dont know how else to file a complaint but just because of him I will not stay at this hotel ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would definitely stay here again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/08
The hotel is very nice; I see why they earned a 4-star rating. It is very close to Busch Stadium, the Edward Jones Dome and Laclede's Landing. I was very happy with the price I paid, because I went through priceline.com and I saved about 40%. They have there own parking garage, but it is an additional $14 charge and it's open to everyone, so on the day of a huge event good luck finding a parking spot. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would definitely stay here again.

Stay Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/08
This is a pretty hotel and that's the only nice thing I can say. Rude service, things not in the room that were assured we'd have. Also during check in it was a bad sign as another lady was asking for the number of another hotel. We arrive with swimsuits in hand and ask for directions to the pool and get there it's out of service - could no one tell us that? I could go on and on.

Hated it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/07
Upon check-in (by some girl who didn't speak English), we were told the wrong elevators to use. They didn't even go up to our floor. The front desk girl never told the bellman our room #, so he couldn't bring us our luggage. So, after two trips back to the front desk, we knew proper elevators and our luggage was on its way. However, as close to Busch as we were, Marriott doesn't spring for FSN Midwest in the rooms, so we couldn't watch the baseball game. There was no one at concierge desk to help with nearby local resaurant advice - no menus available for anything family oriented. There was no fridge in our room, and there was supposed to be (according to our reservation listing). We were treated hateful by valet when THEY lost our car! They finally tossed us our keys and told us to "go get it ourselves"! There was no coffee or creamer in our room - just a coffee pot. It took an hour for some to be brought up. They never cleaned our room, took out our trash, made our beds, or brought us clean towels the entire weekend. We had to call for it every time. We were treated nasty by a concierge guy when we asked them to call for a city museum shuttle. We were told they had 900 checkouts and couldn't deal with us right then! Terrible, terrible , terrible service!!! even with tip in hand. We will not stay there again!

Terrible for the price, etc
By Sirsi, 06/18/07
My mother was in town for a parents as teachers convention/conference. We came to visit her and the kids. She brought the grandchilden she is raising. She and the children were treated poorly by the staff. The concierge was an old, unfriendly woman who actually snapped at mom when she asked for her assistance. The room was overpriced. The room smelled and poorly decorated. No wi fi in rooms. And no pool that we saw. The restaurant was also poorly serviced. They actually tried to charge us 20 dollars more than what the bill was and did't apologize for their blunder. No smiles, no service, no fun. Terrible experience.

Great hotel!
By Marshall, 06/02/07
We stayed in the Suites Hotel across the street from the Grand. It's a remodeled hotel from the 1920s, and has a fantastic lobby. The room seemed tight at first glance, but was quite functional. The pool is located at the Grand Hotel, and the Suites guests have access to it.

This Hotel is a Safe Call
By Nappy, 08/10/06
I and friend stayed here for one night only on a Saturday night. We came down to watch the Brewers play the Cardinals for a sold out baseball game. First of all I was impressed on how easy it was to find and the service was very helpful even though there was a little bit of a long wait to check in. This hotel is really clean and the beds are really comfortable. If you can get a deal on a room, it is well worth it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that has had a bad experience staying at any other hotel. I have paid more money to stay in a worse off hotel than I paid for a five star like hotel, like this one. It is in walking distance of the Edward Jones Dome, the arch, the courthouse, Busch Stadium, and Laclede’s landing. The pool was a bit small, but it was clean and the water was warm; hot tub not bad either. The parking is only one block away and a bit pricy, but in a city that size there is no way around it. We paid $14 for the day. Next time I plan on going to St. Louis, I am for sure booking a room at the Renaissance Grand Hotel. Overall, it is a bit pricy for food and drinks and a room if you do not get a deal; but this hotel is a safe bet and you will not feel ripped off.

Excellance year after year!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/06
I stay here annually during one of the busiest events of the season, the Joyce Meyer Ministries "Women's Conference" when virtually everything is sold out 6 months in advance. The only reason I don't reserve a room when I check out for the following September in because they won't let me. In addition to comfort and cleanliness, the staff is top-notch and the restaurant is fabulous, especially the lunch buffet. The location is perfect, only a 2-3 minute walk from the Edward Jones Dome and convenient to all amenities including many other eateries just in case you ever feel any need to leave the hotel. The valet service is great for getting me a taxi to Union Station or the Airport because I usually come into town a day before the event and stay a day after to rest up after ushering. While I'm certain there are other very nice accomodations, I won't be looking for any of them. Anne L. Hanish Madison, Alabama

Overall experience was a good one
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/06
My husband and I absolutely LOVED the room. It was perfect. The food was great. The staff was approachable and friendly. The hotel's only faults were that the parking attendant was extrememly rude. My husband stopped to ask the lady working at the garage what we needed to do about the cost of parking because it was included in our room package. She didnt let him get more than one word out and yelled at him saying she was "busy take a ticket and go" he then said he didnt want to do that because he had a room and had a question. She then stuck her hand up to his face and told him she was busy to "take it up with the hotel". Then later we heard her yell at someone else who had stopped at the entrance to ask a question saying she was "busy". We complained to the hotel and they appoligized but didnt seem to care. Also, we got a package with breakfast, champagne and strawberries, and late check out. The hotel staff forgot that we had the chapagne and strawberries and they forgot that our checkout time was a late one and they forgot that we had breakfast included and charged us for it. Other than all the mistakes the hotel was a pleasant.
