Great First Experience at Springhill Suites
This was my first time at a Springhill Suites property (we're fans of the other Marriott brands -- Fairfield Inn, Courtyard, etc. too)... and it was a very nice experience.
The linens were soft and plenty warm. Having the extra space of the suite was nice, although it was just me and my husband. The bathroom and vanity are separate, which made getting ready in the morning much easier.
We stayed two nights and chose this property although it meant a 50-minute drive back and forth to Big Rapids each night. (We were in town to watch a hockey series with Ferris State, and could have stayed in Big Rapids, but chose to stay at a Marriott property instead, and Big Rapids doesn't have one).
The breakfast buffet was ample, featuring make-your-own waffles, eggs, lots of cereals, pastries, juices, and more.
The hotel was nearby to lots of shopping and dining options. In the summer, they'd be considered "walking distance -- about two blocks away -- but in winter, we drove to them. Right up the street about a mile or mile-and-a-half was a Zoup's Soups, which was delicious.
The rooms offered wired and wireless connections. We forgot an Ethernet cable, and they brought one up to the room right away.
I would definitely stay here again.
