Great for pre-cruise stay
We stayed at this motel on Friday Jan. 25,2008 and our cruise departed on Sat. night. The room was small but adequate and the elevator was small and slow as previously stated. The air conditioning was great and kept the room very comfortable. The staff was very helpful in helping us find places of interest in the area.
But the best thing about it was its location. You get to stay in Old San Juan and are able to walk around through this interesting and historic part of the city. Then there is a free trolley that you can board right in front of the motel that will take you to all parts of Old San Juan.
On Sat. morning we were able to check out and then store or luggage at the motel so that we could explore El Morro and the rest of Old San Juan. Later in the afternoon (when the crowds were down at the pier)we were able to pick up our luggage and take a taxi to the pier to board for our cruise. It was really excellent.
There are many restaurants in the area that have Puerto Rican cuisine and there is a park accross the street that has a outdoor coffee stand were the people meet. Also there are many shops in the area for shopping. In all I would recommend this hotel. Maybe not for its luxury, but for a clean room, for a reasonable price, and a great location.
