Don't go with children

This was our third visit to the hotel and we were so looking forward to our holiday but were gravely dissappointed, the hotel and grounds could not be faulted, however, they are discouraging children now, they are making this an upmarket hotel for adults only and in particular not the english. They want big spenders and the everyday normal person is not treated well. Most of the staff remain friendly but it is obvious that they do not wish children to be in the grounds and the kids club is long gone. A shame because the local is fabulous and Lagos remains our favourite destination. A family friendly venue remains to be found however.

An excellent all-rounder

This hotel is situated just on the edge of the old town and looks like it's own little village. Bar, restaurants, health club, pools, what more could you want. It takes 10 minutes (leisurely pace) to get to the heart of the town, so no need for taxis. Surrounded by peace and quiet. Staff are very friendly and polite. We only stayed B&B and it had everything you could possibly want for breakfast. There are several steps, but plenty of rest places throughout the maze of corridors. I would recommend this to everyone, it has something to suit everyone. I would love to go back!

The best place to eat in Lagos

We liked the low season rates most of all! Our room number 1331 overlooked a pleasant courtyard /garden and we enjoyed listening to the blackbird singing! Eating outside in the little restaurant did'nt feel like a large hotel at all and the lamb chops were by far the best we've had in Portugal. The house red wine was delicous and a reasonable price for the Algarve. The only bad thing is the HORRIBLE coffee from the machines at breakfast!! This will not deter us from staying at this hotel several times a year as long as we bring our own coffee filters!!

Fabulous hotel

This hotel was one of the best I have stayed in. The service was exceptional. The staff were polite and courteous and nothing was too much trouble. The room was cleaned daily. Only problem was the balcony was too small. The location was excellent. Near to the harbour and a short walk into the main centre. We will be back.

The service is poor, and the personal of the hotel is bad. The rooms havent good views and are too small. The clean rooms is bad.

Tivoli Hotel Lagos beautiful place to stay, so central. Hotel and facilities second to none. Lagos wonderful fishing village with lots of fabulous places to eat and lots to see and do at night. Beach was so clean and huge.
