Not worth the Money. Location not ideal
By ,
What I like: - Beautifully made - Breakfast choice was awesome What I did not like: - Location is terrible - all shopping activities and nice areas are far away from the Leela. - Not worth the money - Trust me if you pay around $300-400 per night here - you can get a far better deal in the heart of the city. Try Brigade Homestead Jaynagar or Kormangala area - they don't have good breakfast - but will cost $100 and very western setting. - Leela should post a NO TIP policy -- food/drink/car/internet everything is already overpriced and due to location you will not have much choice to go out for anything cheaper

Excellent, but Expensive
By ,
Staying at the Leela in Bangalore was a great experience. The hotel is magnificent with wonderful grounds, nicely appointed rooms and a good location near the (old) airport. I particularly liked the traditional Indian sitar music in the lobby during the evening. The service was excellent, with one exception. During two out of three trips to the restaurant for breakfast, when I ordered tea, I got coffee instead. I work out whenever I travel, and the gym/spa is very nice, although in the morning between 06:00 and 06:30 all of the cardio equipment was being used. They should add some additional equipment. Overall, a great stay at this hotel, but the rates are very high - but I guess that's the price for the hot market in Bangalore - too many foriegn executives travelling to visit Indian technology firms...

Do not stay at the Leela
By ,
I have stayed at the Leela consistently for the past 5 years. I was once a great hotel with great service. Now, I find the staff to be rude and unhelpful. The staff is arrogant and does not care about the guests. On the plus side, the rooms are nice and spacious. The work out facility is excellent. The breakfast buffet is very good. But there are MUCH better hotels to stay at. I am switching to the Oberio.

Please pick another hotel leela is awful
By ,
From the outside this hotel looks grand. Rooms are sooo small. Twin beds. Service is awful especially in comparison to Price. We were promised airport pick up and no one showed up. Room sevice took one and one half hour. Food was cold and bland.Room service personal keept knocking even after putting the Do not disturb sign. Toilet had a broken seat. Manager promised to get back to me about the problems and to date I am yet to hear from him. There are so many good hotels in banglore try them. But avoid the Leela!!

Not Worth the Price
By ,
The Leela Palace is an absolutely beautiful hotel, luxury to the max, however the service was mediocre and the food just so-so...However, the spa was wonderful and they were very professional and nice. As for the total hotel experience, for the price, it wasn't worth it.

We will not go back !
By ,
The Leela is no longer what it was , lousy value for money. The main restaurant hall was hot, the ac had been switched off, doors were open in sweltering heat, service was inefficient and with a loud band belting away songs that were ignored, the place was noisy to boot. We walked out.

Stayed at the Leela once in 2005 and again in 2006. Truly 5 star hotel. Great staff and service, nice rooms, excellent food and nice building and grounds.

Never going back
By ,
This place used to have a good reputation and used to be good value but it seems to have lost its way. Room rates and prices in the bar and restaurants are the highest in Bangalore. The staff are rude, unhelpful and badly trained, especially in the spa. The restaurants are always mixing up orders. There is extensive building work going on at the hotel which continues until 10pm every night seven days a week. This is due to continue for another 6 months at least. The builders are normally seen lined up on the scaffolding leering at the ladies swimming in the pool. Any attempt at making a comment to help them to improve the level of service is met with arguments and denial. For the price you pay you can certainly get a better experience elsewhere in Bangalore. Anywhere else for that matter.
