Welcome to Kennicott River Lodge and Hostel! Located in the heart of the Wrangell St. Elias National Park and at the end of the McCarthy Road where the road ends. You can dive right to the hostel cabins here before the road ends. Come join the Wilderness at our front door where the Kennicott Glacier is right infront of the main lodge and cabins! One of the best views in the world right infront of the lodge and cabins of the Glacier and Mountains! The main lodge building provides a common area for all guest to enjoy. Self contained kitchen to cook and dine in, comforable lounge upstairs and big decks to sit, relax and view the glacier and mountains. We have hostel cabins, private cabins and rooms in main lodge. We run on solar power so during the day you won't hear a generator running but the sound of the Kennicott River flowing out of the Glacier.After a long day of hiking on the glacier or mountains or just exploring the area you can relax in our sauna building with a real Finnish wood stove. Also new big stone fire pit outside infront of the lodge to sit around at night and enjoy the midnight summer and big horseshoe pit for playing. So join the wilderness at our front door get away from the crowds and experience real Alaska where eagles soar long forgotten valleys,where the sun shines brightly and the rivers run wild!
