Unfortunitely it's the thing available.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/11
Beds are very uncomfortable, mold in the room and bathrooms, not very clean, and the breakfast consist of donuts, cereal and water downed coffee and juices. There other places in town for no or very little more money and get a lot better. The bar there is great.

So many other places to stay in Minot!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/11
This is by far the worst service I have ever dealt with. I work with several hotels on a weekly base and have never been treated the way I was treated by the Dakota Inn reservation staff. He was very rude and pretty much told me to take my business elsewhere which is what I am doing. If you are looking for long term stay, my advise is to look anywhere else - maybe when they have nobody staying there anymore they will realize that they cant treat people like that, especially in hospitality, and still stay in business.

Poor Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/30/11
We stayed at the Dakota in on a family road trip and stayed in more than a dozen "economy" hotels during our trip so we had a lot of places with which to compare this hotel. This was by far the worst. The rooms were small, the walls were cinderbrick and the rates were at least $30 more a night than comparabley outfitted venues The complimentary breakfast was stale donuts, bread and cereal. The pool was nice but no nicer than other places we had stayed and not worth the $30 premium over cheaper hotels. We were told AAA rates were only available weekdays (we stayed on a low traffic Sunday evening) The on-duty evening desk person was surly and upleasant and at one point as we passed through the lobby we heard the phone ringing off the hook while the desk clerk was out having a smoke. The place was reasonably clean although not spotless, it was quiet and the beds were OK. What we mainly objected to was the premium rate charged for an outdated facility.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/10/11
The price is good compare to all other franchise motel is charging in Minot during this oil boom. Rooms have everything what you can find in other franchise motels. We did like the motel because their price. We did paid lot more in past stay in other motels.

We won't be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/11/10
We stayed here about 3 years ago and liked it. I was not impressed this time. The warm pool and the location were the only positives. The rooms were stuffy and drafty, the continental breakfast was poor. The hot tub was colder than the pool our 2nd day and the staff was not overly friendly. It would have been nice if we had been asked how we enjoyed our stay. Maybe there is a reason they don't ask.

WONDERFUL (don't understand the other reviews)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/09
The staff was very friendly, we walked in on the night before Hostfest and were given a very good rate for a room and were treated with the utmost respect throughout our stay. I had a job interview and my wife staed at the hotel while I was gone and she can not speak highly enough of the staff and the patrons she met there. BOTH THUMBS WAYYYY UP!!!

Rude Manager
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/09
I tried to make a reservation and the gentleman told me there was a room I asked what rates they had available. He stated he had a room but did not honor any other reduced rates. I asked for the Manager because I needed a statement of nonavailability. The Manager stated she did not honor any other rates because of the fair. I requested a letter she said I did not need to get rude put down the phone and told me to shove it up my bosses ass....

needs improvements
By michele, 3/23/09
The breakfast was cold cereal and only two lousy choices, english muffins, toast and mini donuts, the kind you get out of a bag at a gas station. No fruit, a banana, apple or orange would have been good and healthy. The room was ok, but very stuffy, even with the heat turned off and the window open. Very small bathroom and it smelled like someone had been smoking in there. Yuck! The lobby is kind of tucked away so if you're not familiar with it you might have a hard time finding it. At first I thought maybe you had to go through the lounge that is attached, as that is what is most prominant and toward the street. Quite pricey for what you get. Ask for a cot, but couldn't use it as the springs were bad. Wouldn't refund the charge.
