Clean and comfortable
Spotless, friendly and comfortable! As teachers, my family travel all over the Pacific Northwest each summer. Most hotel/motels we stay at are little more than spots to shower and sleep before we are off on our next adventure. Many are dirty, tacky and downright uncomfortable, if not arguably dangerous from a sanitary standpoint. Trails West is a shining exception. The room was the cleanest I've been in all summer. Every aspect of the motel, from the mattress to the pillows (extras provided with a smile) to the towels, was first class. We have stayed in fancy hotels in Seattle that were not a nice as comfortable as this.
We have stayed at Trails West several times over the past couple of decades. For our money it is easily the best motel in the area. Over the years the place has gotten better each time we have visited. The new owners said they have been there less than a year. We are hoping they have a long run because we love the area and hope to return each summer and enjoy the quality we experienced this visit.
Room number 1 is wheel chair accessible and has a FANTASTIC shower that is accessible as well.
No regulator on the air conditioners so we were actually cool on a 100 degree day/night.
(one of our biggest complaints at the larger chain motels)
Heated pool
Three lakes and the Grand Coulee Dam within a mile or so of Trails West.
Best Breakfast of the summer: Pepper Jack Bar and Grill. Incredible food.
Skip the Siam Palace. Come on, who microwaves 'deep fried prawns'? Yuk!
Wireless and wired internet.
