Spruce Falls Cabins, Lutsen

Beautiful location. Dirty cabins, rude manager who was never around. List of what to clean and do before checking out made us wonder what we were paying for. Too many other welcoming establishments on the shore to stay at.

Spruce Falls is the place that makes me feel like I shouldn't write a review, or should purposefully write a bad review just to try and keep too many people from knowing about it. The cabins are very nice in an old school, rustic cabin kind of way. We had a fantastic view of Lake Superior directly out the living and master bedroom windows, and loved falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves.

These cabins and the managers are wonderful. This is not your typical resort catering to people who want the latest gadgets and electronic equipment. It is a place for people who want to unplug and unwind. It is very rustic with a beautiful view. There is no tv and all you can hear are the waves crashing along the shore. I value a place with peace and quiet in a tranquil setting...and I have found it at Spruce Falls. I had wonderful service when I was there - no intrusions. The new managers have done a wonderful job. I don't come up north to socialize, rather give my spirit a lift and rejuvenate my soul.

Several Cabins are very nice and on the water. I have stayed at many cabins on the shore over the years and have always been impressed with how friendly people are.... this not the case here!!! Very bad attitude

Spruce Falls Cabins are one of the last places on the shore where you are right on Lake Superior, the views incredible, the prices affordable and it is still a family owned business. Each of the cabins have its own unique layout and view. Yes, the beds are hard but as a camper, they beat the ground. If you want to experience nature and beauty and come home and cook your own dinner in your own kitchen, this place can't be beat. If you don't care for the rustic quality of the original cabins, check into Hilltop and you will never want to stay anywhere else. It is modern, has everything you need and you will never want to leave. It is where I go each year (if I can get away) to restore my soul. I spent my honeymoon there in 1977 and caught a salmon in the creek with my bare hands. This is the only place I want to stay on the North Shore. This is not a commercialized blight but a place of beauty and peace. Enjoy.

The cabin we stayed in was not cleaned and we had to spend the first day cleaning up. The bedrooms were very small and the beds were not comfortable. The location is nice.
