Chateau LeVeaux offers spacious and comfortable condominiums, with brick fireplaces, fully equipped kitchens, and all of the amenities of home; also featured are an indoor pool, a whirlpool, a sauna, a game room, and a library.
We were up this past weekend, just me, my sister, and my dog, Spot. It was nice to be out of the rain and we had a great time. We had a lower unit with a walkout with a view of the lake - everybody looks out on the lake. It was just beautiful. The only disappointment was that it was not cold enough to justify a fire in the fireplace. Our room was nicely done with sort of a seagull theme. In fact, we had a seagull that stayed outside our sliding door watching us eat dinner - begging for a bite - we bought pizza from Coho. I am the married lady and like my quiet times with Spot. My sister is much more outgoing and she spent time on the big deck talking to some new friends. I fed pizza crust to the seagull and then Spot chased him away. The big excitement was a cold shower Sunday morning but the problem, a boiler, was quickly fixed. The staff were wonderful and it felt very intimate. This is a small place and not some mega resort with hundreds of people. I highly recommend it.
My family has been going to the North Shore for the past 30 years and Chateau LeVeaux has always been our special place. It is a little place nestled between bigger resorts - something you might drive by - but it has wonderful charm. We have stayed at many places and this is the one we have settled into. The units are individually owned and, no, I am not going to tell you my personal favorite. I will tell you it deserves an excellent review. The staff are friendly and hardworking, it is always clean when I stay, and it is not one of those institutional type hotel rooms.
Also, this place has the best piece of property with wonderful views, a huge viewing deck, plus views from every room. The meteor shower last week was great! It is close to everything.
I was surprised at another reviewer saying that Cateau Leveaux was nto worth going back to. We had a wonderful stay and our room was simply stunning. This is a condominium resort and all rooms are decorated to teh owners taste. My suggestion is to look at the pictures online, look at the rooms upon arrival, and to ask which ones have been recently redecorated.
Ours was very well decorate and clean, we had beautiful views, this has to be one of the best locations on the shore. The grounds could be better manicured but this is 'Up North'. I really liked the staff and the smallness of this place. I am absolutely sick of chains where everything is of cookie cutter uniformity. The staff is friendly and a little like charaters from Northern Exposure, if anyone remembers back that far.
We felt at home and plan to make it our special spot on the shore.
This is a real surprise. It looks like nothing from the road but has really nice rooms. Each is individually owned and it is best to take a look before renting. There are some really nice rooms. Also, the pool is wonderful - uncrowded. The views are great and some rooms are pet friendly. We had a lower level walkout. Great value.
will never go back. worse than living in a apartment.
trash here and there, cig buts everywhere.
poor upkeep on condos. Do not get a downstairs unit if you go you will hear noise from walking and doors.
