Starlite Motel, Ronan

Passing through late and got a room as a walk-in at 10:30 at night. The staff was pleasant and accommodating and the room price was good. The room was clean and had a microwave. That's the quirky part. I tried to warm something in the micrwave and when I opened the door, it started up. Scary! Obviously the microwaves safety switch was broken. I told the desk about it so hopefully they have removed it from service. I never did get the wireless internet to work and the signal was very weak but otherwise an overall decent place to stay on the road.

We stay at the Starlight 6-8 times a year...Always clean courteous and a pleasure...

From the first conversation asking about availability the whole experience was wonderful. Having last minute travel changes had left us paying a lot for very low quality rooms during the rest of our trip. The room had obviously been well cleaned and even the pickiest of us could not find anything that could have been cleaned better. Our room at the Starlite was spacious, with a sitting area, 2 beds and a lot of floor space. Having the refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker made the stay feel even more like home. The location is close enough to Polson and Flathead lake to make the trip a few times a day, but far enough to be out of the noise. The views outside are amazing as well and we enjoyed spending a peaceful evening appreciating them. We were extremely satisfied with our stay and although we don't usually leave reviews, this one was worth mentioning.

I was in Ronan over the holidays to meet my soon to be in laws. There was trouble at a Christmas get together and I found myself needing a motel room for the rest of the visit. The starlight is the only motel in Ronan Mt. I talked to the owner who immediately accused me of drug use because of the late hour. I'ma 44 year old grandmother. I AM NOT NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN A DRUG USER! As a female alone after having walked from my son's home, I clearly posed no threat. I had plenty of picture ID, two credit cards, and debit to pay for the room. Although I explained my situation to this so called man he turned me away in sub freezing weather, refused to let me use the phone to call a cab, or 911 (as I was not dressed for the weather but for a Christmas party) so I ended up begging him to call the police on me. Luckily, an officer found me right away and took me to a gas station that was open in town and helped me find a cab in the middle of the night who drove me 10 miles to the next town so I could finally get in from the cold. This was on Christmas night. Heartless, cruel, I hope no person ever has to experience an episode like this at the Starlite Motel. Please don't ever go there.

We stay here 2 to 3 times a year and have always enjoyed our visit. Nice people and nice town. Thank you for a nice clean and enjoyable place to stay.
