awesome stay

we are from canada and we stayed from 1st and 2nd. We are coming back in aug. We had the best stay ever anywhere. Rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable and people are friendly. Wanted to stay longer.

Great Place to Stay! Would Return.

I stayed a Friday and Saturday night in #9 which was an efficiency. It had two bedrooms and a little living room kitchen area too. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. I have stayed at several places in Detroit Lakes (Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn and another place) but I liked this one the best because it is within walking distance to Zorba's, to a restaurant, the Pavilion, the park, and to the fair which was going on too I had two teenagers with me and only one car so they could do their own thing and I was able to do my thing. I would recommend this place and would love to go back there again.

great and acommodating place!

the hotel might b a little old.....but who cares. the service was great. the room was clean and well stocked with everything we could need. the bed was very comfortable. it is in the best location imaginable. absolutely love staying there. have several times and will continue to do so when we r in D.L.

Dirty and Old

This place is dirty old moldy bathrooms nasty carpet, I cant believe I even stayed here, my mistake.

On the Lake

What a great little beach house on Detroit Lakes. Located between Zorba's Restaurant and Lakeside Tavern, we are across the road from the beach. Enjoyed ice fishing. Our kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Flatscreen with cable. Worth the price. Lee Brown, MD

Going back next year

spent a great 5 days there. It is an older place (as are most on the lake) IT was recently remodeled and very clean. The managers -Tyler and Rachelle -are a delightful couple - very friendly and helpful They provided everything for which we asked.

yes this motel is out dated maneger mary was rude when went in to check out and ask if had coffe made she said yes made a pot for myself NEVER GOING BACK

Try it out!

I read the two other reviews about the Holiday Haven. Not true at all! We really enjoyed it. We had a quaint room that looked like a log cabin. Mary was so accommodating with anything and everything we needed! We wanted to go out Saturday night and she even volunteered to watch our little dog! No, she did not charge us for that. We often go by and say hit to her whenever we are in town. Yes, the Holiday Haven is an older motel but it is clean and nice. I encourage people to stop by. Mary will make your stay very enjoyable.

Not going back

We paid over $100.00 a night and there was no maid service at all. They did nothing!!!!! What a waste of money to stay in a nasty Motel. Find somewhere else to stay.

What a dump

The description of the motel says that it was newly remodeled. To me "newly" is within the past couple of years. This place does not look like it has been remodeled since the 70's. The furniture in our room was dirty with stains on the chairs. The floors were dirty. The beds were super hard. My back hurt for over a week after sleeping in them. The pillows were hard and flat. The bathroom needs remodeling. The kitchenette was decent. The air conditioner was super loud. The blinds do not keep the sunlight out. The motel has a stale smell to it. When I got home all of my clothes smelled like the motel. The best thing about the motel is its' location as it is close to the lake, restaurants, parks, etc.
