Hotel Packwood like going to Grandma's
We stay at the hotel Packwood several times a year. The owner Marilyn actually lives on-site so service is immediate. My son and nephew joke that going to Hotel Packwood is like going to grandma's without the cheek pinching.
The hotel is always clean and is furnished with antiques, which fit in with the history of the hotel itself. If you want to know more ask Marilyn and she will be happy to talk to you. Heck if you just want to visit she will do that too!
The rooms are cozy with individual thermostats for heat, fans are provided in each room as well. There are NO phones in the rooms, which is a benifit in my opinion. Wireless internet is provided FREE of charge, as is basic cable TV. There are two communal restrooms with showers only, or if you prefer there are two rooms that have in suite bathrooms.
Besides the two in suite rooms, there are several configurations available. One room has two twin bunkbeds, two rooms have a queen, twin, and twin trundle. Other rooms have either a queen or double bed.
We stay when we go on ski trips to WhitePass Ski Resort, about 30 minutes away. Marilyn has also told us that there are some wonderful hiking opportunities during the summer months as well.
Coffee, Tea, and Hot Cocoa are provided in the lobby for free. She also has a microwave available for guest use.
The only downside is that the rooms are not handicapped accessable, as they are on the second floor.
