The cabins looked cozy and the pool was nice except there were all these ponds with mossy, standing water in them and mosquitoes. During the night we were visited by Deer Mice. About 4 of them. Little beady eyes and big eared suckers! Im not afraid of mice. but I do not expect to share my room with them especially when this variety can carry the Hanta Virius. I called to get some mouse traps and no one answered the phone. Ther was no breakfast due to someone being Ill with the Flu. Or so said the note on the door. Hope it wasn't the Hanta Visius. We left in the middle of the night, couldn't sleep anyway. For health reasons we won't be back any time soon. We had our 2 young children with us and were afraid the mice would get into our beds.
First of all Pet Friendly = $10 no matter what size pooch you have and the owner told me on the phone that she had had it up to here with dogs. I knew this going in but no big deal I thought. Arrived and an elderly women checked me in then said oh oh, we have a problem. Well, would you mind sharing it with me I thought to myself. Finally she admitted they overbooked and my room wasn't available. She tried to get hold of the owner and finally did and got me into a room that belonged to someone else. How doe that work???
I was pretty tired so I just washed my face quickly and laid on the bed to watch TV which seemed to be a rather tiny screen very far away. In the morning I got up and turned on the water to take a shower and no hot water!!!! I let it run for a good 5 minutes and no difference. I headed to the office and there was a sign on the door that there was no breakfast today and they would be back at 8am. It was 630am and I needed to get on the road so I left a note in the room with my cell phone number and called and left a message later that day or the next. I was expecting at least an I'm sorry about that call but nothing.
My advice is to stay at the Cub's Den in Monarch. I stayed there a couple months ago and they care and are there if you need them. They actually answer the phone.
How can you beat wonderful hospitality, awesome dogs and waffles in-house and your own private (clean!) cabin across from the hot springs (where the rooms are more!), all for under$65 ?! I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't require fancy, just clean and private with amazing proprietor hospitality.
I WOULD LIKE TO HIGHLY RECOMEND FOR YOU TO STAY HERE A T THE TENDERFOOT MOTEL IN WHITE SULPHER SPRINGS , THE HOSPITALITY IS GREAT, THE OWNERS WENT ABOVE THE CALL OF DUTY TO ACCOMIDATE OUR GROUP, GREAT WAFFLES AND VERY FRIENDLY FOLKS!
