Owners Response to Review from 9/11
I find it somewhat surprising and a bit fishy that the previous review made no mention of the fact that they notified us, the owners, about any issues with their room. When checking people into our motel, we ALWAYS tell them to notify as as soon as possible if they are not satified with their room. There are also signs in each and every room that states that any problems should be reported to us. From June of 2006, when we took over the motel until the present, we have yet to have this happen. All bedding, towels, etc are washed, sanitized and dried with scented dryer sheets so the comment about the bedding having a sour smell leaved me scratching my head. As for as this motel needing updates, these customers obviously hadn't stayed here prior to our ownership. Those that have been staying here for the past 10-30 years always make a point to tell us how much nicer the motel has become since we took over. Ny wife has done a complete makeover of all rooms, taking down old, faded and outdated wall pictures, fresh paint, stenciling and bordering. Much new landscaping has been done on an ongoing basis since the summer of 2007, and we are replacing old carpeting as needed. I will defer to the the dozens of people who have made it a point to tell us what a great job we've done in making the motel a much more comfortable place to stay. We have received more complimentary cards and letters than we can count from many of our regulars(we have hundred)while the on many occassion bring us various gifts as an act of gratitude for what we have done and continue to do. When someone posts anonymously, it becomes impossible to even contact them after the fact to offer up some sort of compensation. Might there have been a problem with their room? Anything is possible, but unless we are informed of those problems we are completely unable to correct the situation.
