Eagle Waters Resort, Eagle River

Almost all restaurants are noisy, but when Eagle Waters is full, the volume in the dining room is not at all so loud you cannot hear across the table. The toasty warm crackling fireplace situated right in the middle of the action is still able to be heard. The whimsical-yet-sleek North Woods decor does not hit you over the head with a hey-you’re-in-the-backwoods-country sensibility. Lovely use of warm tones, soft lighting, and varied textures. Great patio! As far as the Filet - Hands Down it is the very best I have ever been served. I ordered it medium rare and sliced it down the middle to find both sides the same warm red color from top to bottom. It had the mouth feel of sashimi. Most of the staff in the kitchen and on the floor have been with the restaurant for many years, and they work together like a well-oiled engine. Proprietors Laura and Jeff remember every face and every name and so do most of the servers. It's always professional, polished and comforting almost like going home to eat. The staff is well-versed in wine and have put together a list with plenty of big reds that are not over priced or pretentious. The resort itself is over the top for the money with four, maybe even five, star amenities and decor. I'm absolutely perplexed that this gem hasn't been overridden by the luxury crowd - perhaps thats why I love this place. It's a hidden diamond amongst the rough.

We cannot compliment the staff and owners of Eagle Waters enough for the attention to detail and welcoming reception of our guests. Five years ago we hosted our daughter's wedding reception at Eagle Waters and did not hesitate to host our second daughter's reception at Eagle Waters on Labor Day weekend. Laura and Jeff could not do enough to make our guests feel welcome, not only during the reception but throughout the weekend as many of our guests (and ourselves) chose to utilize the condominums for lodging. The condominiums are equal to any 5 star resort we have stayed in: beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Our meal choices for the wedding reception were exceptionally prepared and the service by the wait staff was timely and they were considerate of any additional requests. The staff did an outstanding job at decorating the resort to our daughter's wishes. From the cake on the grand piano to the table set-ups and wine station--everything was tasteful and beautiful. The entire experience left a wonderful memory for all of the guests, the bride and groom, and I believe the staff of Eagle Waters as well. It was a fabulous weekend where everyone felt very welcome and were treated like they were the only guests at Eagle Waters. We will definitely look forward to hosting another reception at what has become one of our favorite restaurants in Eagle River. I wouldn't hesititate to recommend Eagle Waters Resort to anyone looking for a venue for a wedding reception. Laura, Jeff, and the staff will do their best to accomodate your requests!

Our family has enjoyed the "good life" at Eagle Waters for eight seasons and we can't wait to come back to the campfires, great food and wonderful views of Eagle Lake. The in ground heated pool has been a huge draw with our four boys over the years and you won't find another setting with incredible lakefront views. The owners love what they do and the staff are always ready to serve your needs. The best prices and amenities make EWR the best north woods experience!

The accomodations were exceptional. The condo units were very upscale. The views from the condo's were spectacular. The pool was great. My teens enjoyed the pool, tennis, and volleyball. The dining room was great food definitely 5 star. The lounge area had plenty of games to keep teens busy. Also has a game room. Outside bar offers entertainment the best deal in northern wisconsin

It was the best vacation of the year. We went up every summer for 9 years. this year in 07 will be our tenth. they have now torn down our cabin and put up cuandos. We'll see what its like this year.
