Bishop's Motel, Jackman

We booked a 1 week stay for snowmobiling, confirmed with a credit card, received an email confirming our reservation then confirmed with the hotel twice (4 weeks before trip and 1 week before) then the day before we head out (700 mile trip) the owner calls and asks if we are still coming up because they don’t have a room for us because we did not make a reservation. If we did not make a reservation how did he know my name and phone number? After many phone calls back and forth he said the best they could do was to give us a room on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday. Not a good option. Then they found us a room at the Boss Hotel which turned out to be a dump! After doing a quick internet search we found the Mountain View Resort which was a few miles down the road, paid less per night for the room and turns out to be a really nice place to stay! After speaking with someone who works there it is pretty common for the reservations to get screwed up? Bottom line is be careful about making reservations with this place, even guaranteeing with a credit card does not guarantee a room!
