Katahdin Cabins, Millinocket

My girlfriend & I had a wonderful stay at the Katahdin Cabins recently (in September!). We found the cabins online & after reading all the great reviews (& seeing the price!) decided we had to give it a try. And were we glad we did! We found the website to be spot-on. That is you are getting a super clean cabin that looks exactly like the pics - you get a cozy comfortable cabin that is exactly as described on the website & so many great reviews! The mini-fridge & microwave were newer & spotless (and really helped with the snacks/leftovers!), the bed (Sealy Pillow-Top) was uber-comfortable, the sheets spotless and obviously new/newish too. The towels? Better than any hotel we have stayed at. These "cookies & muffins" you here so much about? AMAZING - and considering my parents ran a bakery in NYC for several years before finally moving out west - TAKE IT FROM ME - the goodies are SPECTACULAR!!! Looking for a great value? A comfortable nights sleep with no noisy neighbors next door? A place with a little (actually a whole lot!) charisma? Have been to the Katahdin Cabins twice now. First time was with a group of 10 hikers - we stayed for 8 nights & had an amazing stay. Owners (Skip & Nicole & darling children!) basically waited on us hand & foot - muffins & cookies both in the late afternoon since we were all off early for hiking in the morning. Cabins tidied up each day for our return - beds were AMAZING - soo comfortable. Fresh clean NEWISH sheets on the beds - towels were fluffy & obviously new/newish too. Ground were QUIET - being slightly off the main road thru town makes a world of difference. And being a bit of a germaphobe myself? Let me tell you - CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. No dust/bunnies - no mold/mildew smells - showers were SPOTLESS - no pet or funky odors. I guess they take this eco-friendly stuff seriously as even the sheets/down comforters were free of the usual hotel perfumed laundry detergent smell - THANKS N & S!! We will definitely be back - and a word to the wise - they were booked every night of our stay - so if you plan on heading there book well ahead! And tell them Sara & Sergei sent you!

We have been to Katahdin Cabins (also referred to as Airport Cabins)four times. Our very first trip was back in March 2007. We had a great time! Our group (8 in total) stayed for 2 nights and the service was excellent. Homemade muffins and coffee in the morning; fresh baked cookies waiting for us in our cabins in the late afternoon and Skip (owner) even made us a very delicious key lime pie for dessert one night. Once again the cabins were very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We would definitely recommend a stay at Katahdin Cabins!
