Chalet Moosehead Motel, Greenville

Nice place, right on the lake. Was just there (May 09) before the summer rush. From our room we could hear the loons calling out on the lake at night. Didn't get a chance to use a canoe or paddleboat, but they were there for guests to use. The moosehead area is beautiful!

I thoroughly enjoyed the location. The scenery was spectacular and the room was fantastic. Be forewarned: it is owned by a couple and while the wife is very friendly, the husband is not. Unfortunately, I had to deal with him beyond just checking into my room and he made me feel thoroughly uncomfortable for having to ask for his assistance on both occasions. I was told by a person who works at a nearby facility that he is like that all the time. Considering his job is to serve guests, he wasn't someone I'd like to deal with again. As much as I loved the place, due to his attitude and the negative vibes that he gave off I will not go back. There are many lakeside locations in the state of Maine with staff that would provide much friendlier service.I'm there to enjoy myself, not feel like I have to walk on eggshells if I need assistance from the front desk!

Been staying there each August for about 5 years. Great BIG LAKE experience. Calm and relaxing and close to evrything.Free canoe use, paddle boats and use of other sporting goods. Beautiful views of nighttime stars with no big city lights to worry about.
