Lodgings at Pioneer Lane, Ephraim

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The room was very clean and bright with modern amenities, yet had charming Victorian decorations. The owners were very pleasant and helpful in preparing for our arrival; yet respected our privacy and only came in to clean the room when they saw us leave. They helped coordinate my husband's request to order flowers, and had them waiting in the room to surprise me upon our arrival!!! It's right across the street from the harbor - PERFECT for sunset watching!!!!! There was a nice private balcony off our room we were able to use to enjoy the delicious wine we found at the local wineries earlier that day. It was centrally located to all of the shops, restaurants, and activities we wanted to do during our stay, and was a very comfortable place to relax together at the end of the day.

Wonderful accommodations, met and exceeded our every expectation. Moved the bed to accommodate room enough for my wheelchair. We enjoyed a very relaxing time and didn't want to leave!

We recently spent a winter weekend here and it was the perfect getaway. The room was so beautiful and spacious. We loved that there is a small kitchenette area in the room. All of the decor was so perfectly thought out by the owners. We will definately be returning in the future. We love the location because it is very central to so many attractions.

Lodgings at Pioneer Lane is the perfect lodging destination when visiting Ephraim, Wisconsin. The description is exactly right, secluded yet right in the middle of everything! You may have to experience it to understand. Rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable, each one an individual statement. Welcoming, hospitable hosts that provide all that is needed without any intrusion. They do it perfectly. We highly recommend the Lodgings. We have stayed several times and are always eager to return.

We absolutely loved Lodgings at Pioneer Lane. The rooms were beautiful, large, and immaculate. Very luxurious towels and bedding. The innkeepers thought of all the extras, such as books and magazines, coffee and tea, candles and bubblebath, even popcorn! We stayed in the Leaf Room and loved it. We especially enjoyed the large whirlpool and the balcony for a sunset drink. We cant wait to visit again! Great location.

Door County is an annual "favorite" vaca for us. We have stayed at several different hotels or lodgings and none can compare with Hugh and Alicia's Lodgings at Pioneer Lane. The rooms are large, well appointed, and immaculately maintained. There are books and magazines in the room and a nice library of movies from which to borrow. Ephraim is a quiet, quaint little town great for walking, biking and dining. Some of our favorite places are Wilson's next door for a burger and shake, and Leroy's for premium coffee and ambience. Hugh and Alicia are wonderful hosts whom we look forward to seeing every year.

We were first time visitors to Door County and were extremely pleased with Ephraim and The Lodgings at Pioneer Lane. We stayed in the Cabin Suite and our friends were in Helen's Suite. Both were beautifully decorated, way beyond comfortable and included all the amenities we needed. The inn was centrally located to all the activities we had planned...fish boil in Fish Creek, Peninsula Players, Wine Tasting, browsing the shops and galleries, Peninsular State Park, checking out the goats at Al's in Sister Bay and enjoying Wilson's ice cream. We'd highly recommend this beautiful inn.

The Lodgings are the perfect place for a get away in Door County. I couldn't agree more with other reviewers who noted the incredible size of the rooms, along with the amenities and welcoming touches. Ephraim is very convenient to all of Door County. The Lodgings have to be the best value in all of Door County!

My husband and I spent a winter weekend at the Lodgings at Pioneer Lane and couldn't have been happier. The room was huge and wonderfully decorated. It was an extremely peaceful and relaxing place to stay, with nice touches like an electric tea pot and a mini-fridge. While we did not have much direct contact with the owners, Hugh and Alicia, all of our interactions were great. We almost got snowed in the day that we were leaving, and they offered us a free night's stay if we wanted, which we thought was incredibly thoughtful. Unfortunately, we had to leave to get back to work, but we would have stayed longer if time had permitted!

The Lodgings is such a perfect getaway! My husband and I have been coming to Door County for 10 years, and luckily for us, we found The Lodgings a few years back. We visit Door County at least two times a year, and we have stayed in each of the 4 unique and distinctive rooms during our visits. We've had nothing but great experiences. Hugh & Alicia are fantastic "invisible" hosts, and like the other reviewer mentioned, they have thought of everything. Wine glasses, corkscrews, plates, utensils, gourmet teas and coffees; and of course, the fantastic whirlpool tub, with the big, soft towels. The rooms are all light and bright, yet they are remarkably cozy with the gas fireplace (with timer--great to fall asleep to on a fall or winter night), the decor, and the beautiful and comfortable bedding. The Lodgings is located right in the heart of Ephraim, so the public beach is within a short walking distance, and Wilson's is block away. There are great restaurants within walking distance as well (The Chef's Hat, The Old Post Office), and many shops. I also like to run, and there are many quiet streets near the inn that are great paths. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a romantic, cozy, getaway--during any season-- try The Lodgings out. If you like understated luxury and cozy comforts, you won't be disappointed!
