A Little Home away from Home
Great little family operated Motel. The staff is as friendly as you would expect to find in small town America and Maine and the accomodations match the friendliness. As a business traveller who spends well over 120 days on the road each year, it is surprising as well as enjoyable to find a non-chain motel like this. If you are expecting a Hampton or Holiday Inn Express, well it may not be set up like them but it is just as comfortable. The room is clean, well appointed (in a homey and folksy way) and considering what they charge for business and leisure alike a bargain. They have a comfortable continental breakfast and a nice little room to eat it in. There are also soda and snack machines as ell.
You need to remember that this is located in the small Vilage of Stratton. This is not the place you want to stay if you're looking for night life, a variety of restaurants, or a in-pool or other amenities. But if yo're up there skiing at one of the lodges and they have no room at the inn-remember these guys. (hence the name-Spillover Motel) If you're here for business at the Industrial Park and want a quaint, comfortable, and relaxing room-stay with these guys.
I have elite status at 4 hotel chains. But each time I come up to this area, the Spillover is where I stay. Remembering its limitations, you won't either.
