Spare the extra $20 and go somewhere else!!

After six hours in the car traveling from northern Minnesota my husband and I decided to stop in Eau Claire for the evening fourth of July weekend. While checking hotels in the area, price comparing and review skimming we decided to stay at Green Tree Inn. Needless to say we were both disgusted to see deteriorating wallpaper in the bathroom revealing mold spores, a shower head with the water pressure equivalency of a rusted misting garden hose, as well as thick dust coated lamps. Not being much of a complainer my husband advised me to "give it a shot". Not only did I give it a shot, I also left with bed bugs!!! As if that wasn't terrible enough around 5pm we decided to find a restaurant to dine at. Not being familiar with the area and after circling the town for 20 minutes (every business was closed due to the holiday) we decided to ask the front desk assistance for some dining suggestions. After 10 minutes of ringing the service phone with no response we contacted another local hotel service desk for dining options. They were much more helpful. On a positive note I did acquire, from this experience, the wisdom to not be so concerned about saving a few dollars for the sake of comfort and sanitation.
