Agate Beach Motel, Newport

I did not stay here but I did stop in last weekend for a few minutes to visit a friend who was a motel guest. I was only staying for about 5 minutes to say hi and drop off some crabs we had caught in the bay earlier in the day. Four minutes into our stay the manager came to the room and verbally attacked me for parking on the property with a boat in tow. I was not blocking in anybody's access an informed her that I was only there for a few minutes and then I would be leaving. She said that she didn't care and that we needed to get off the property immediately. Her attitude and customer service lost any future business from me or my family, as well as any recommendations to friends. I am glad business is so good that potential customers can be chastized away.

We stayed at this amazing little out of the way motel for Seafood and Wine and could not believe the rooms! they are so cute,beautiful colors,great furniture,cozy quilts and a view like no other! We brought our food and we had everything we needed. Super clean and now the best part of the stay...The bonfire on the cliff with Maggie adn Dave ,we brought our wine and our marshmellows and we watched the most amazing sunset with them and than we went down the stairs to the beach and Dave made sure we had wood for our fire on the beach.Never in amillion years did we think we would find a place like this ,they treat you like family,the kids that work for them are wonderful and friendly and the grounds are so well kept. It is like going back in time to the most wonderful relaxing place you can imagine. We work in very high stress jobs and this was such a great break for the rest of the world. The wine and seafood was a good reason to find it,now we can't wait to come back! There is nothing that you would not like about this place unless you want a noisy place...

Who knew this was even here...what a best kept secret,we could not believe our eyes as we drove in the beach and ocean views could not be better than this,great time and wonderful staff and quiet.The bonfires at night with the managment was so fun,our kids will never forget the smores and the fun on the beach,a family value that should not be missed,it is now our annual trip for sure!
