Didn't even get a chance to get through the door

I called to make a reservation for the night at one of their cottages, which I specifically stated. Called back and suddenly theres a two night minimum on their rental houses. It also said nothing about it on their website and the person taking my call was very rude about me even pointing out that the two night minimum wasn't stated anywhere.

the ocean view room was a view of a building in front of my window and the lady that gave us our roomkey the night before is really hard to wake up when she is dead asleep watching TV at 7pm. Probably wont stay there again. You can tell they get alot of customers regularly coming there no mantter what because anyone serving you isnt really worried about your needs.

Stuffy

Generally a good place but our room dosent have an AC unit and the rooms only have a small window on one side of the building so you have to prop open the door to get any kind of wind flow.

Great stay, Once again!!!

I have stayed at the Waves many times and have always enjoyed their clean comfortable rooms and their great prices. This trip was no different, very nice room, clean and as usual a very friendly staff. Many of my friends and family frequent the Waves and I have never heard one of them say anything different. The Waves is a great place to stay!!!

3 bedroom house

We rented the 3 bedroom ocean view house, which does have a great view. The 3rd bedroom was a large closet with bunk beds stuffed in it. The house was in poor condition, the front door wouldn't lock, the back door was broken, towel bars fell off the wall, toilet ran all night. The beds were hard and the "curtains" on the windows were see through. Dated furnishings, stained carpet, not clean. When we checked in at 8:00pm much to everyone's surprise (including the manager) our house was not clean and we had to wait another 30 minutes while they ran over and took care of it. They managers seemed put out that we asked for a late check out.

Nice rooms, good free breakfast. The view was fabulous. The hotel is at a great location to see the local sights.The reasonable room price made it possible for us to stay 3 nights. We would come back and recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The Waves is Great!!

My husband and I have stayed at the Waves off and on for the last 10 years. We have tried other motels but keep going back to The Waves. we do like the old rooms better than the new ones. The new ones are a little less sturdy it seems. It is clean and enjoyable.

We rented one of the vacation homes that Waves Motel rents. The cottage was infested with ants and bugs! It smells like stale smoke! Its dirty. I would not recommend these cottages to anyone! We reserved it for a week but left the next morning.

Top Notch, Great Breakfast

Very clean and comfortable room. Solid free breakfast. Location very convenient. Very friendly manager. Great view from room. Would stay again!

Second Stay, Still Good

This was my second visit to Newport. My previous visit was in the early 90's and I stayed at The Waves then. The location is on the cliff facing the ocean. All of the rooms have ocean views. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast is available at the office in the morning. It cost me $64 w/tax a night. Although this motel is not fancy nor does it offer some of the ammenities some might want, it was a value for a clean room with ocean view.
