Sky Hook Motel, Mitchell

Great location overlooking Mitchell, OR, and what a comfortable place to stay! It just 'feels like home', and the owners are more than accomodating in making their guests feel welcome. I will definitely be returning to Sky Hook Motel with family in the future. Be sure to visit Painted Hills National Monument just down the highway!

Love it! I visit it every year. It feels like grandma's house. Very clean and quiet. Owners are friendly and the area is beautiful.

No, it's not the newest; and no, it's not classy; and no, it's not pretentious. It is neat, clean, comfortable, blessed with a lovely view of the town, filled with fresh air, and in possession of the most welcoming motel owner it has been my pleasure to meet. Arriving unexpectedly one summer afternoon, I inquired of a room. 'Yes, Unit 1 was available, but it would take 15 minutes to prepare.' The lady of the house led me to her front porch bench, brought me a glass of cold lemonade, and, because I was a single man travelling alone, sent her 16 year old son out to sit with me and talk football while I waited. I have since stayed there 3 times and ever will when travelling through central Oregon.

The Skyhook was just perfect for the first night of our Eastern Oregon Vacation. It is situated on a hill, which allows the breeze to cool the room nicely. You can sit outside and look down upon the town of Mitchell, while having a nice cold beverage from the little fridge in the quaint little kitchen. The Painted Hills are 8 miles away, and are amazing. I loved this place, and the owners are so sweet, too.
