Ocean Haven, Yachats

We first stayed at this resort over 20 years ago when it was called Gull Haven and was run under different ownership � an authentically friendly, retired English teacher with a great lending library. At that time, the place had a warmth and beauty to it hard to compare. But after a recent spring stay at the renamed Ocean Haven under new ownership, our experience was dramatically different. We were forced to cut our stay very short due to deceptive unsatisfactory treatment from the new owner. Altogether, this included fraud, threats, and slander. The place is infested with rodents and filled with enough restrictions to turn our vacation into a nightmare. The owners espouse strong environmental rules in their resort information and express a respect for virtually every species - except our own in the way in which we were treated. Perhaps we�ll luck out some day and the place will eventually change hands again back to a trustworthy owner. But for the moment, pass on Ocean Haven.
