Cool City Motel, Two Rivers

Where to start??? The carpet.....from the 70's and appears to have not been shampoo'd since then. Stains, holes - none of us even dare touch it with bare feet. The entire decor of the room we had was from the early 70's.....which is fine as long as the room is clean! This wasn't - it was absolutely filthy - thick dust covered cobwebs draped from the ceiling, the yellowed curtains and above the bathroom sink. We saw bugs running around in the bathroom and saw 1 run into the side vent of the microwave. The lampshades are thick with dust and stained - my son thought it looked like blood stains (however probably more like years of smoking and moisture). This would however be a perfect location for a slasher film. From what we could see, the owner (man) does the housekeeping (no hired staff while we were there) we had to wonder if he even changes the sheets between customers? We found a hair on a pillow. My son did not even want to sleep in there (none of us did but we paid for the place - had to stay.)The only things we saw the owner remove from another room was the used towels. The courtesy coffee that is proudly displayed on their sign outside was instant coffee packets & styrofoam cups (can styrofoam even be microwaved??) This one takes the cake as the filthiest dive I have ever seen - I even went around the room taking pictures of the filth. Still feel dirty having just been there. I totally agree with another reviewer that called it the Bates Motel (but I bet the Bates was cleaner). Nasty - Gross ~ Don't waste your $ here. ****I have never left a bad review for anyplace that I have stayed - but felt compelled to do so here - entirely due to the filthy dirty condition of the room - from the looks of it - only the barest minimum of cleaning between guests is being done here.

Cool City Motel was neat and clean. Management was very friendly and efficient. When we needed something they were there to help. We had a large groupand we all rode Harley's in. We were noisy. They did not seem to mind. We would go back again. I just wish they had real coffee instead of instant. Thanks for everything.

In town for a bit of fishing. The price was right and it was a good , clean place to stay. I can not twell you much about the town, but the hotel and the fishing were both great. We will return.

I wasn't planning to stay in Two Rivers, but my truck's engine thought otherwise. The silver lining of the whole adventure was my stay at the Cool City Motel. The people running the place are SUPER friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable. Would need some updating before The 4 Seasons would hang their sign on the place, but for what I was needing and expecting it turned out to be a great value. And did I mention the people are SUPER friendly??

We lived there for 3 weeks ... It was wonderful!! The people were friendly and they were there at our beck and call!! Our room was cleaned everyday!! It was the best stay!! The rooms were so nice!! and our bed was so comfortable we slept so sound!! Dairy Q next door Grocey store just a few blocks!! My kids loved it... We would come back every year there is an outage. Iglow!!!

It's still like the Bates motel on steriods as a traveler from a couple years ago said. Kitchenette was roomy, but not sure I'd want to use any of the utensils as the drawers were not overly clean. Freezer had old food frozen to the bottom. The tub was so dirty I had to scrub it myself before I took a shower. Most of the exterior lights on the upper floor entry were out so it was almost pitch black at night. Room seemed clean, just very old and smelled bad. Windows (double-hung) did not stay open well. Table chair legs were bent (some dangerously so). Surprisingly, our room beds were very comfortable. Not worth the price at all to stay here. The resident dog defacated in the grass area out back and it was not picked up so you had to watch your step. Room was supposed to have maid service but no one came to clean up or replace towels.
