Will not be back
Okay, I'll give them this, it was super clean! Other than that....we were a bit displeased for the $140/night we paid. It was a motel for gosh sakes! On a positive note, there was a fridge and microwave in the room; however, my husband and I were a bit shocked to find NO COFFEE MAKER. But...you could buy coffee in their store...no problem, except at 8 am when we went down there, the store wasn't open yet! WE HAD TO DRIVE OUT OF TOWN TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION FOR A CUP OF COFFEE! Absurd if you ask me! Also, we had one small (very small) trash can in the room---the rest of our trash we had to bag in plastic grocery bags and keep with us the whole weekend since we couldn't find a place to throw them out and the room service/cleaning didn't take them with them when they made the bed and tidied up the room. Weird. When we "checked out" Monday...there was no one around, the office was closed...just put your key in the "key box" they had. Staff was not unfriendly, but barely spoke and apparently are not interested in having your return business. And by the way---there are only like 3 places downtown to eat...all pizza and one VERY EXPENSIVE restaurant called The Bank--there staff was so unwelcoming we left as soon as we sat down. We ended up spending the majority of our vacation in Port Austin about 20 miles west in Caseville...much friendly and much, much more to do. We won't be back, we were very unimpressed and disatisfied...
We also found it weird that you could NOT bring food or beverages down to the pool---they had a sign that read it was "state law" - no food or beverage allowed. I live in Michigan and I've been to many public pools that allow food and beverage on the premise. Since when can't you take a cooler to the pool, especially when you have a 2 year old that wants to spend the day there! And you can't take your towels from the room---nor do they give you pool towels...luckily we brought out own. The bath towels there are the size of postage stamps...you might be able to dry your foot off.
We don't recommend this place unless you want a truly UNRELAXING vacation where you can't even get up and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning!
