Cedar Avenue Inn, Gladwin

Our room was disgusting! Crappy curtains! Our air didn't work! We were afraid to keep our window open because of people walking by. The carpet was filthy! No radio and a TV from the 80's. Cheap furniture too. The mattresses were full of rips and looked like something from the 70's. Smelly too! I brought my own sheets! THANK GOD! We paid $10 more because of my dog. GROSS!!! We wouldn't even take a shower there! Noisy and just a FLOP and Drop place with a crummy bar.

Dirty, dingy, smelly and discusting pretty much describes it. Old looking room with wall paper hanging off the walls, water damaged bed frame from the jacuzzi tub that apparently overflowed at some point. The mattress image is forever stuck in my brain, it looked like something you would see along the roadside for free. Oh, and I can't forget the sticks in the windows to keep people out or in ??? And the manager shouldn't be in customer service because she apparently doesn't know anything about it.

My husband and I needed a place to stay in September 2010 for my mother in-laws surgery in Gladwin. The hotel outside looked alright and the front desk staff was nice enough however, once we actually entered the room our experience went downhill from there. The smell was horrid entering the 'Jacuzzi' room that we paid a $100 plus tax for. The place looked dirty, rat infested, and damaged. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the furniture was broken, the comforter stained, the carpet moldy, and the curtains see-through with absolutely no privacy. The Jacuzzi tub was filthy and we didn't even want to get into it (fabulous that we spent more money and upgraded for nothing!). Then when we went to go to bed we noticed right away how uncomfortable and stiff it was. Only to find out the reason why was because we were sleeping on BOX SPRINGS!!! There wasnt a mattress! When we complained to front desk the next morning the woman at the desk didnt even respond to our issues, handing us the receipt with a snippy 'Have a nice day'. With a sore back, stiff neck and no sleep-we had a horrible day. Our day was already stressful enough with the health problems of my husbands mother, and we couldnt even get good nights rest at this hotel. What exactly did we pay for??! We will never stay there again. Ever.

Rooms are in huge need of updates. Cigarette burns in the stained carpet. Matresses are thin and uncomfortable. Looks like a room from the 70's and smells like it has not been cleaned since then. There is literally a few small holes in the wall. Have never had this poor of an experience.
