good if you are on a budget
Our family of four has stayed at the North Star five times.
Rooms range from 70 to 130 a night. The 70 rooms are about the size of a large closet with two bunk beds packed inside. Good news is, if you roll out of your bunk bed at night your likely to roll right into the other one that is on the opposite wall of the room. The more expensive rooms are quite spacious. Many of the TVs are broken, the place is kind of dirty and generally in dissrepair.
There is a lot of common space, a fridge you can use, room to eat meals, they allow dogs and you can use the athletic club facilities accross the streat. Overall it works for our family. ut we're used to cheap hotels. I've stayed in a lot worse.
Additionally, they cater to elementary age hockey teams, I've never been there when there when there was hockey tournament, but I expect it can get pretty crazy. May want to ask and try to avoid weekends when there are a lot of kids.
