I love this place
By Tanya Gables, 4/27/12
I really think this has become my most favorite place to stay. The Saco River Motor Lodge is a little out of town but the rooms are so nice and clean and comfortable. I think the beds are brand new and sooooo comfortable.

Good value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/10
I just returned for our weekend get away at Saco River Motor Lodge. I was a little taken a back with the look of the place when I pulled in. It looks like at motel and much more run down than I expected. Once I opened the door to the 3 bedroom suite I felt a little bit better. The rooms were clean and a good size. The bathrooms were also pretty nice. The kitchen was well equiped. Downside: The BBQ consisted on one working small grill that we needed to share with the entire motel. The upside is that the staff pretty much let us do what we wanted. The rooms were clean. The loaction was good although we had to drive to get to a beach.

We loved our stay!
By littlemann, 7/25/08
We just returned from a much needed vacation and stayed at the Saco River Motor Lodge and we were very pleased with our selection. It's an older motel that has been nicely updated and our room was spotlessly clean. We are clean freaks so this was very important to us. We both smoke and the rooms are smoke free which even to us was refreshing! Ashtrays and chairs are provided outside the rooms with an overhang to keep you dry. The hosts Gordon and Linda are super kind and nice and we enjoyed chatting with them. The pool was spotless and refreshing and I wish I had had more time to spend in it. The gardens are as amazing as the owners and their love of beauty is evident. The best part for us personally was being able to bring our beloved Golden Retriever with us and for only a mere $20 one time extra cleaning fee. Also, the rates are the most reasonable we have paid in a long, long time.

Good Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/07
Nothing fancy, just a good place to stay when you need an inexpensive room. Frige and micro in the rooms. Coffee pot and coffee (with cups) in the rooms. For a few bucks more you can bring a pet. 5 minutes to Conway and North Conway. Just a few miles to Fryberg. It's right on the Saco River. This place is not expensive, but it is not right on Route 16 in Conway either -- but just a few minutes away.

What a charming place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/07
I must say that this is motel is one of the nicest that I have ever stayed in and especially considering the price. The gardens are amazing and you can tell that so much effort goes into making the place look fantastic. The rooms are spotlessly clean and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. The newly refurbished pool looks fantastic amd much time was spent splashing around. I would definitely return when I am next in the Valley.

Very Accommodating!
By Deborah, 8/15/07
About one year ago I stayed with some family at the Saco Valley Motor Lodge and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and the 2-bedroom suite we stayed was clean, inviting, and perfectly suited to my wife, myself (in our 60's) and my 90 year old cousin. Another reviewer mentioned accessibility problems with her room, but we had none of these issues and in fact we were well catered to with all special requests we had. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in this area.

THE PLACE TO STAY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/14/07
I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was. The Saco river was the best for tubing. We were minutes from shopping in North Conway, endless hiking trails nearby, more colorful landscaping than we have seen at any of the big name hotels. The kids could not get enough of the water, so even after being in the river all day they would come back and jump right into the pool. The hosts Linda and Gordon made us feel like we were guests in their home, they met or exceeded our every need. We reserved a 2 room suite for a little more than the standard room cost and it's the only way to travel with kids. We have already booked for the upcoming Fryeburg Fair and a weekend of snowmobiling in February. We can't wait! Anne & Bob

Amazing Hospitality!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/07
We booked this motel as some friends from the had USA told us about it. We arrived late one night due to delayed flights and the owners had arranged a late meal and specially stayed up for us. What we liked was how helpful and knowledgeable everyone was and nothing was too much trouble. Spotlessly clean and nice crisp bedlinen. One evening they heard that it was my wife's birthday and when we came in there was a bottle of champagne with compliments. If you want a nice relaxing motel with good old fashioned charm and two wonderful hosts in Gordon and Linda then look no further. Look forward to returning when it snows.

DON'T BOTHER!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/9/06
We came to Saco River Motor Lodge for a girls weekend. Me, my mother, grandmother and sister-in-laws. As I was getting married the next weekend we wanted a relaxing weekend shopping and sitting by the pool. The website stated come relax by the pool. Newsflash, the pool hasn't been up and running in 5 years as we were told on our arrival. When I spoke to the gentleman on the phone making our reservation, nothing was said to me about this. Other Factors were that our room was not handicapped accessible, big problem since my 76 year old handicapped gram was with us. No indication that the room was not accessible. Picture us trying to help her up stairs so steep that she was scared to death. We went upstairs to our room and there was a big window with no glass in it (and it was raining) and the outlets had no outlet covers. big violation!! When I went back down to complain all I was told was how sick her husband had been in the last five years. And that they had taken the pool off the website. It has been 3 weeks since our stay and the website still states come relax by our pool. This is called false advertising and should be corrected. Our nice relaxing weekend turned out to be very stressful and We would NOT recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. I will say that when we came back from shopping they had put a big pink styrofoam piece in the window, very attractive! Sincerely, Julie O'Neil
