Wonderful, rustic, get-away from it all, place to stay!!!

This place is rustic, rough, but yet very homey! It is nothing fancy, but yet very peaceful and cozy. If you are looking for rest and relaxation, this is the place to take your family or just your spouse. It is so close to many attractions like Sylvan Lake, Mt Rushmore, Keystone is not far at all. We love it here! Even my kids and there families enjoy it. Our cabins were clean, nothing fancy, so if your looking for roomservice this is not for you. The creek has such a peaceful sound. Its a must for those that dont want to spend a fortune and yet want to have a wonderful time, peaceful time in the Hills.
This place is so quaint from the outside, but the inside of the cabin are so old and run down, by husband and son didn't want to stay. We're used to camping in the great outdoors, and wish we were after checking in. Unfortunately, they have a 2 week cancellation policy, so we were out of luck. I woke the first morning with many flea bites, and came to find out that the couple before us had 2 large dogs staying in our cabin. I was the only one brave enough to try out the hot tub. The water appeared clean but smelled of rust. We found out about it through Budget Travel, but it wound up not being a bargain based on the condition of the place.
Luckily, we decided to spend all of our time outside of the place, and the location was great, so we still had a wonderful trip.
To start off with, it is a nice location. Hwy 87 some 10 miles from Sylvan lake on the same road. A creek runs by the cabins though it was dry even during early summer - Memorial Day weekend. The room was 50 bucks/per night with a small gas range, rusted utensils and a fridge.
There were 2 double beds and a single bed all with dirty comforters and blankets. The sheets were clean though and so were the pillowcases. But the worst part was the water. There was a smell of rust and there were black particles coming off the sink. We dared not drink the water at this place.
The shower area was so small that water dripped off the ceiling and these had to be the quickest baths I have taken, thanks to the smell of rust and incovenient shower area. The furniture was cheap and tacky and worse, very unclean. The thing is the price is comparable to standard economy motels in the area. The only reason i chose this was it was listed in the Insiders Gudie to South Dakota's Black Hills and Badlands and cabin sounded so romantic.
This is coming from a person who is pretty much satisfied with super 8, travelodge, and the like.
