Great Find
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/10
We stopped in the first town we could find with lodging accommodations when our vacation went longer than expected. We had a large group (3 adults and 3 children) and it was tough to find a good fit. The clerk at another motel recommended the Pines Motel, so we drove over. The Pines had a suite that was perfect. It offered all of the comforts of home (two bedrooms, very spacious, kitchen, front-room, family-room). Wow. Sometimes you stumble upon a real gem, and this was one of those times. If you are traveling with a large group...check this out...even if you have to go out of your way. You won't regret it.

Perfect Stay!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/7/09
With kids sometimes it can be an interesting experience to stay at a hotel. We felt very welcome and at home here. The room was very clean. Service was very nice and personable. The price was perfect for us. Our kids loved the swing benches, the nice grass and the beautiful landscaping. We will definately be back!!!

Highly recommended
By Mike, 3/29/09
The Pines is a beautiful motel in an excellent location, within easy access of the Black Hills. The rooms were incredibly well kept, very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Service was excellent. In addition, the motel itself is in a beautiful and secluded location with numerous birds and wildlife present. The grounds were very well kept and that was in the winter! I cannot imagine how nice the area must be in the spring and summer! The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make the experience of staying there one to remember. As a frequent traveler, I have stayed in many hotels around America and Europe and can honestly rate the Pines as one of my favorites. It really is like a home away from home. Unlike a large chain, repeat customers here are known by name. The combination of friendly staff, excellent location, and general cleanliness allow me to recommend this very highly. Anyone passing through Newcastle or planning on visiting the Black Hills should check this out!

This has got to be the best keep secret in the world. Anyone who is lucky enough to book a room is in for a treat.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/25/07
This place was like a little piece of heaven. My husband and I had the priviledge of staying with Ms. Carter and her daughter and felt like we were at home. They are just the best. The facility was very clean, and well organized. We had no "surprises" when we checked into our room as has been in other instances---it was exactly as they said it would be. We will certainly stay on our next trip to the Black Hills, and make their facility our point of destination.

Worth going out of the way for!
By Clifford, 7/5/07
The Pines is a charming, traditional motel with all sorts of thoughtful touches, all at a reasonable price. The setting is a quiet three blocks from downtown Newcastle, which itself works as a very nice home base for exploration of the west side of the Black Hills, including Jewel Cave National Monument and Devils Tower National Monument. Highly recommended.

A wonderful little place to stay
By Trina, 8/26/06
My teenage son and I just returned from a Wyoming vacation and the Pines Motel was one of those little treasures that you remember. The owner, Ms Carter (w/ her daughter)is meticulous about this lovely motel and it's upkeep. It's clean, homey and affordable. There's a small garden right across the gravel parking lot where the resident bunny and visting deer graze in the morning. It is as quaint as the photos show and it was a relaxing pleasure to make this one of our stays.

A wonderful vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/06
Early this summer (2006) my family and I had the pleasure fo staying in the Pines Motel. It is one of the most beautiful motel I have ever stayed in. The landscaping is wonderful with an abundance of flowers and trees, the fish pond and fountain are a nice touch. a quiet place to relax after a long day of sight seeing. Ms Carter and her staff were very friendly and willing to help us in any way they could. Every day our room was clean and fresh. one of the cleanist I have ever seen. I will tell all my friends and family to stay there when they go to Wyoming or the Black Hills. I know I will be returning next year, I already have the room booked. Thank you Ms Robin Smith
