Powder House, Keystone

Went here for breakfast. Standard menu for the most part. Food was good service was quick and prices were reasonable. Nice ambience with the log cabin feel of the restaurant.

I only ate at the restaurant which was awesome but the whole place looked very nice. This was the first place I ate when I got into town and I would say I will go there again if I am ever in town again.

We were sure what to expect, but we were pleased!!! It is located next to the 4 lane highway, but up on the hill you didn't hear traffic and it's easy to find. Staff was more than helpful. Rooms were very clean, bathroom in our cabin was newly updated. Pool is centrally located. Flat screen TV in room. The pillows were a little flat and the sheets didn't fit the bed really well. The restaurant had great food, but it was a little pricey and service was a little slow. It was busy for both supper and breakfast. It was a quiet little retreat. We would definately stay again!!

We found this place by accident because we couldn't find our originally planned stop: and I am glad we did!! The people are SO nice and the food was great--although a bit $$$. We had a great cabin that suit the whole family and it was nice and quiet too. Not 10 mins from Mt Rushmore either! We are already planning on staying there again on our next trip!

This was an excellent place to stay. It is not in town- it is about 2 miles outside of Keystone- and this is great if you'd rather see mule deer when outside versus a gaudy flashing hotel sign like they have at the President's View or the White House resort. The surrounding forest is wonderful. It's on a nice forested hill side and where I live it's sort of flat so I like this. The pool was great. The cabin was great. Nice interior and exterior- it's like a log cabin. It had a small kitchen area with a small fridge, a microwave, a sink and some cabinets for your own food as well. The bathroom has a tub and shower. Slept with windows open and got great breezes at night. The pool is good too- just a little bit heated. The only drawback is that I wish it cost a little less- both the cabin and the restaurant. But I easily got past this as everything else was so good. Possibly the best place to stay in the whole area.

My family stayed here for 3 nights. Our cabin was GREAT and I think it was fairly new. It had a mini kitchen (microwave, small frig, sink) but no stove. (Take your own utensils) Bathroom had a shower & tub. The deck was wonderful. Good size to relax on in the evenings and had a wooden swing on it. Pool was very nice and clean for the kids. About 1 mile from Keystone & 3 to Mt Rushmore. We would definitely stay there again. The restaurant there is A+ Excellent. The prime rib & fillet mignon was the best I had ever had before. The desserts were HUGE. My kids raved about the BBQ ribs from the kids menu so much that we ate there 2 nights in a row and they got ribs - both times.
