Empire House Motel, Bay City

We were given a cold room with a cracked window. When we asked for a different room we were told there weren't any available. We turned the heat up and went out to dinner for 2 hours, still our room was cold. We were then given an electric space heater which didn't help after running it for 1 1/2 hours. Frustrated we asked for our money back so we could try another hotel. They refused. We went to another hotel anyway we were so disguted with this one. My husband even tried going to the police dept for assistance in getting our money back. They would not help. They informed us they get plenty of calls regarding the customers who frequent this hotel and that there had even been a shooting there 1 week prior. We were told we would have to go to small claims court to try to get our money back. What a hassle. We would highly recommend you choose another hotel not only will you be more comfortable but you will certainly be safer.
