Braun Historic Hotel, Hot Springs

I stopped with my granddaughter for just a quick bit to eat, maybe a hamburger or something quick after playing tourist guide. When I saw the price of the small steak we both had steaks. The steaks were excellant. I can't say enough about how great the flavor was and how tender they were. The service was great. I have no complaints about anything. I would love to go back.

So sad - Owner / Manager rude to help, and not respectful of guests either. She kept our young waitress on verge of tears though she was truly trying to serve us well. We could get drink refills only IF we pay their unreasonable price for each drink refill (this includes coffee, folks! You have to pay for your second cup of coffee!), and salad "bar" was old. Homemade ice cream was the one faintly bright spot, made by owners' Father in Law (a sweet old fella who also timidly manned the bar). Great location and this could be a wonderful spot if the attitude wasn't so rotten by that woman in charge. I would not support this kind of negative experience with a return visit. Definately not a pleasant experience that wish I could forget.

Excellent steak, done to perfection. Best deal you'll find at only 10 bucks. Nice Patio dining, watched the dear come right up and eat in the yard. Service wasnt great but beautiful Russian imported waitresses were great eye candy. Hot Springs is a beautiful town in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Ditch the salad bar, order the steak!!!
