Historic turn-of-the-century Victorian bed and breakfast inn that features 22 individually decorated, antique-appointed guest rooms with spectacular views, sandy beach, great food and drink, shingle style cottage rooms. A vintage Victorian bar is also on site. Accommodations include a continental breakfast. Ocean view Condo Suites with full kitchens are available weekly. Open mid-May til mid-October.

The Best Hotel & Restaurant Experience in Kennebunkport!

The owner's have been hand's on since 1972. It's the quintessential Maine Shingle Style Inn across the street from the prettiest sandy beach in Maine, Goose Rocks Beach. The restaurant is amazing...the wine list is award-winning, the food is equally so. The victorian bar provides an amazing focal point in the dining room, with a friendly bartender. It's the perfect spot where locals or tourists can nibble on selections from the scrumptious pub menu, or sit back and enjoy a gourmet dinner of innovative regional cuisine by Chef Jeff. Seek The Tides Inn By The Sea out, it's Kennebunkport's Best Kept Secret as a Dining and/or Lodging destination in the area.

Overrated

Room was small, dirty, and smelled strongly of mildew. Definitely not worth the money. (It was also a little bit of drive to get to Kennebunkport.)

I would not recommend...

Grossly overpriced and over-rated. The web site mentions that the rooms are small while they are truly microscopic. The bathrooms and bedrooms were dirty... We found old candies as well as a very dirty pair of beach sandals under one of the beds. Despite mentionning it to the owner, these were still present at the time of check-out (4 days later). There was a constant smell of mildew in the hallway and dining area.
