Tides Beach Club, Kennebunkport

One of the few in the area that welcomes couples and families. I've been a returning customer since 1979 and my children have fallen in love with the idea of going back to their "beach house". The inn has retained it's cottage atmosphere with enhanced special touches. If you're looking for a cookie cutter hotel where rooms are identical & standardized stick to the Comfort Inn's of the world. In all the years I've been returning to the Tides, I've never smelled any mildew---whatsoever and I'm very allergic. The whole experience is wonderful and unique, and I'm proud to say that my children are planning to bring their families back as the next generation of Tides Inn guests.

Room was small, dirty, and smelled strongly of mildew. Definitely not worth the money. (It was also a little bit of drive to get to Kennebunkport.)

Grossly overpriced and over-rated. The web site mentions that the rooms are small while they are truly microscopic. The bathrooms and bedrooms were dirty... We found old candies as well as a very dirty pair of beach sandals under one of the beds. Despite mentionning it to the owner, these were still present at the time of check-out (4 days later). There was a constant smell of mildew in the hallway and dining area.
