My husband and I spent our wedding night at the Brass Bell 18 yrs ago and it was a wonderful place we went back every so often on our anniversay We made that mistake this year. Being the romantic he is my hubby surprised me with the red bridal room the same one we spent our wedding night in It was the dusty and musty and unclean the bathroom looked as if it hadnt even been cleaned . we ended up leaving and going back home after a few hours the room was just too unclean to stay in
Room (double) was large, but smelled musty and was not very clean. Cracks in the walls and peeling wall paper, plus worn and dirty carpet. No blankets on the beds, guess the bedspreads were supposed to do double duty, and the sheets were stained and gray. Didn't even try the breakfast, was told only juice and muffins. Went to the McDonalds across the street.
We stayed 2 nights in one of the suites with jacuzzi and fireplace. Room was not very clean. Cable didn't work. Very noisy! Had to wait for a towel to dry hands on for a few hours while they did laundry. Website states Full Hearty Continental Breakfast included. First morning all that was left was a little juice and a pack of crackers and we went down long before the end of the breakfast times. The second morning we were at least an hour earlier going to breakfast and very few guests that night. The only food available was one package of cinnamon covered doughnuts! So much for Full Hearty breakfast! The 1st morning from 7-8 the owner actually yelled down the hall greeting guests as they left. The 2nd night at 1:30 in the morning the two owners were yelling to each other up and down the hall in general conversation for at least 20 minutes before one of the other quests told them to be quite he had to get some sleep to be able to leave at 6am. The doors are very thin and you can hear even quiet voices. It is extremely bad if it is the owners that are extremely loud at all hours!!!!!!!!!
My boyfriend and I were just looking for a night away. We arrived there right at check in time and the clerks seemed puzzled. We checked into our room and the first thing I noticed was the old smell it had. Later on when I took a shower, the water smelled like brocoli. The sheets had stains and the breakfast was more like shopping at a gas station for breakfast. The advertise wireless internet but neither of us picked up the signal. When we finally did, it wouldn't stay connected. Next time I want to stay in Cheasning, I am going to stay else where.
We stayed here on our anniversary 15 years ago it was great. We went back in Nov. 2005, got the same room (the red bridal suite), and left after two hours. The room was cold and the heater would not stay on. The bathroom had hair on the floor and the paint peeling off the toilet as well as the toilet bowl being stained orange from lack of cleaning. The mirrors were streaked and the pillowcases were stained. Although we paid $138 for one night we cut our losses, packed up and left.
