Thunderbird Motel, Mountain Home

The location is great but that is about it. We found this place in the phone book. I called and they had rooms available and gave me a pretty good rate. We got there and paid cash one night and credit for the second. After going into the room, I realized it was a big mistake. The room was disgusting. There was garbage on the floor under the beds and enough dust to make you sick. There was mold in the bathroom. The railroad is right next to the hotel making it hard to sleep. After the first night, I talked to the owner and he said that he would refund my money. He tried and instead of the full refund he did one percent because he forgot to add the zeros. Trying to fix it he double charge me instead! I have had my credit card company refund the double charge, but I can't get my original money back for the second night even though we didn't stay there and the owner refuses to help!! Just save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else.

I was going to meet an acquaintance from nearby town there, in expectation or renting room. Expecting acquaintance any minute, took a seat on a bench outside office to wait. Within a few minutes, hostile manager with poor English asked what I was doing. I said I was waiting for friend from out of town to arrive. Manager proceeded to be belligerent and demand I leave the premises, despite my informing him that would be renting room after my friends arrival. I did not appreciate such treatment, especially by a business in my own home town. In short, Try another place that wants your business, and speaks your language.
