Whispering Pines Motel, Chemult

Fun and great value! I would definitely stay there again. Our room (#5) was very clean and large. The walls and ceiling were paneled with pine. The bathroom (with a bathtub) was also very clean. The whole thing takes you back 50 years in terms of decorations and fixtures. The office has a mini-convenience store, a huge library of VHS tapes and books and Heather (co-owner) was very friendly and helpful. No internet. Some road noise. Close to Crater Lake. Our room had a defective heater - check yours before you accept the room.

This motel is 30 miles away from the Crater Lake and this is probably the best place to stay if you don't have 200+ bucks to spend for a night. We were able to make a reservation over the phone and the owner had our room ready for us when we get there around 9:30pm. What can I say, it was already more than we expected! The room was clean, but nothing fancy. Small TV/VCR (yep, VCR) set and a phone, no Internet (although it is being advertised). If I were to go there again I'd def. stop there.

New owner and they are great. All who helped us were great. The motel is older but looks like they have put time & effort into making it a nice place to stay. Planning on staying here for the Cascade Lakes Relay at the end of July
