We found ourselves off the main drag having been rerouted by the local police because of the Nascar 200 races that weekend, we came upon this motel and after a bit of a struggle made it to the main office to be greeted by a lady who was conducting a conversation on her phone whilst dealing with us.We were charged $70.00 plus tax for a room with two double beds, the sign advertised 'kitchenettes' this consisted of a small fridge and an even smaller microwave, coat hangers, no cutlery, no crocks, no coffee, not even a bottle opener!, My wife decided to wash her smalls in the sink but low and behold NO PLUG, this was also absent from the bath, back to the lady who was still on her phone who stated that for $70.00 it was good value in New Hampshire, I would have to pay at least $120.00! we had planned to stay over for three nights but after a night interrupted between 0353 and 0417 by a loud constant noise, the cause unidentified, I complained the next morning to the owner who stated it might have been another tenant having a shower in an adjoining room.
I liked this place, they gave me a good rate and I stay there every time i go to Hooksett or Manchester. There rooms were very cozy and it was very quiet.
Anonymous a, u wanted them to lower the rate by $50, that would lose a lot of there business, and are u trying to be jealous when you said the manager is a foreigner, just because he's a foreigner doesn't make a difference, you must be racist.
Overall it was a nice motel.
We booked this place sight unseen as a stopover on a multi-person, through-the-night relay race that takes place in the area. I told them exactly what the deal was when i booked: two parties of people coming in groups of 6 to shower and rest for a few hours before moving on. The woman who booked said that was fine. When we got there, the guy in charge gave us no end of grumbling and trouble. Unbelievably rude. I could have handled that alone, but on top of it, this was a disgusting, filthy room, worse than any Turkish youth hostel or 3rd-world dive I've ever been in. For $135!! I slept in our van rather than risk the nasty beds. And really--I am far from a hotel snob. That the Firebird is below MY standards says quite a lot. So: overpriced, filthy, and relentlessly rude haranguing from the owner. Steer well clear!
