Colonial Motel, Penn Yan

Torn down years ago. Was a dump. It's hey day was in the 60's.

We have stayed at the Colonial for many years dating back to the 1970's. We find it relaxing, pleasant and since we aren't into little mints on the pillows just right for us. Plus they are dog friendly. What could be better? It's like having an apartment for a long weekend. Able to rise when we want, make our own breakfast in our own kitchen and have it on the porch. It is run by hard working everyday folks who are a delight to see and convers with each time we visit. We stay there at least twice a year and have never had a bad experience.

Great Location, Clean, Excellent Service! For an excursion to the Keuka Lake wine trail, we chose an inexpensive place to stay--sight unseen. We booked a two-room suite with a kitchenette for $95 a night! I was a bit worried about what the accommodations would be like. We were pleasantly surprised to find this little gem. The location was perfect -- a little outside of Penn Yen on a lakeside road. The rooms were very clean, and the owners were very gracious. One downfall is that there is no restaurant or breakfast offered. We picked up some items at one of the food stores in Penn Yan and used the kitchenette. It worked out fine.
